A non-existent ecosystem? I dont use an M1 as my main machine but a good chunk of the plugins I own and use on a regular basis all have M1-native versions now. And if not that’s what Rosetta is for.

I like your comment. I really hate reading people forcing Devs with much smaller resources than the trillion dollar company to quickly release M1 stuff.BONES wrote: Sat Aug 28, 2021 1:15 am C'mon, they were dumb enough to buy into a non-existent ecosystem for no good reason, you can't expect them to ask smart questions, can you?
People bought in blindly to something that's totally new if it's from that fruit company, then complain when there's no support from other software company yet. Meh

That, as you say, is "now" but I'll bet this guy didn't buy his M1 Mac this morning.jasonekratz wrote: Sat Aug 28, 2021 2:50 amA non-existent ecosystem? It is not necessary to troll or rant. I didn't answer since it's weekend.
I am already working on native support. Unlike competing analog emulations Saurus needs nearly no CPU in general. A native version does bring only 10% performance boost.

Native support for Rosetta? Rosetta is the software layer helping software which doesn't run natively on M1 chips. So, natively supporting Rosetta would mean that the synth doesn't run natively on M1.
Also, Apple is planning on removing Rosetta at some point, when they feel like enough software is available natively for M1.

Sorry. I had a typo.
There is no need to panic at all.
Rosetta2 will still stay here for a long while. Apple is still selling Intel Macs, especially in the professional product-line.
The technology of Rosetta1 was licensed from another company. To avoid fees Apple removed it as quickly as possible.
With Rosetta2 it is different. Apple does not have to pay fees for it, since it is owned by themselves. Furthermore the performance of the emulation is a lot better, since it precompiles stuff for the M1.
Currently all our plugins are working fine with Big Sur and M1.
Apart from this I am already working on a native port.
Our plugins need only low CPU in general. A native version does bring only 10% performance boost.

I already gave you my answer: I am working on this.
Saurus3 is working fine in Big Sur and M1. There are no compatibility or performance problems known. I properly optimize my code. As a result CPU is very low - much lower than competing products - all that with the highest sound quality possible.
Apart from this you can prove for yourself on our website that we regularly release free updates with lots of enhancements, new features and additional sounds.

Even if he bought it this morning that would do nothing as far as a native M1 version of Saurus is concernedBONES wrote: Sat Aug 28, 2021 5:40 amThat, as you say, is "now" but I'll bet this guy didn't buy his M1 Mac this morning.jasonekratz wrote: Sat Aug 28, 2021 2:50 amA non-existent ecosystem? Whereas sensible people don't have to be curious at all, just annoyed that Apple forced a developer to waste time that could have been spent on making the product better.

Considering buying this. Is the GUI changing at all for final release? The wood grain looks kinda bad like the same pattern was copy/pasted in photoshop but slightly misaligned. Is it possible to do your own custom reskin of Tone2 synths?

Mac:
It is possible to change the skins of all Tone2 plugins. Right-click on the .component -> show package content. Within this directoy you'll be a able to to see all .png files for the GUIs.
PC:
rename a .png file to SaurusSkin.dat and place this one next to SaurusX64.dll. When you load the plugin the small skin will be replaced. Replacing the big skin is currently not supported, but might be in the future if there is demand.
