I hope to see more of your music here in future contests. Nice day.becseigy wrote: Sat Aug 28, 2021 7:15 pmHi ,
It's a pleasure to hear your music here too.![]()
This TAL synthesizer seemed simple enough and user-friendly enough for me to try to put together a song with it.![]()
I wouldn't have thought this free plugin sounds that good. Although my song is not like that, but I like the 80’s feeling that comes from it.

I re-uploaded mine, I think I went a bit too wild on the master buss EQ and had to tone it down a little. Hoping I can just keep it as is, and not try to mess with it any more before the deadline. I already spent wayyyyyyyyy too long for what is a pretty simple song. Somehow Soundcloud has the new upload at the same link, even though I spelled the name of the track differently. Weird!

The cello sound is pretty decent for how limited this synth is, how'd u program that?SeBaer wrote: Sun Aug 29, 2021 11:09 am Here's my submission for this month.

Just by fiddling around (pun partially intended):briefcasemanx wrote: Sun Aug 29, 2021 11:47 am The cello sound is pretty decent for how limited this synth is, how'd u program that?
It's not very obvious (meaning, I just didn't bother to look) in the manual, but OSC1 FM's OSC2. I set both Oscillators to Saw, pitched OSC1 up 7 Semitones, and fine-dialled the FM-amount on OSC2. Then lowpass (12dB/Oct, pretty low freqency, no resonance) filtered, and just got lucky... Some finetuning and automating the envelope was also involved.
I'll attach all my patches to this post
Cheers

That's what Soundcloud does if you use the "Replace" feature.briefcasemanx wrote: Sun Aug 29, 2021 3:42 am Somehow Soundcloud has the new upload at the same link, even though I spelled the name of the track differently. Weird!

I wish owners of TAL Mod could get a free, slightly upgraded version of NoiseMaker. I can't get the same functionality with the other TAL synths (I own them all) without a lot of added complexity. I want something simple and good sounding for chiptune music and the drawable MSEG makes this almost perfect, just need a few more modulation options on the MSEG and LFO's as well as allowing it to be bi-polar, vibrato on mod wheel, etc. I can do all this in TAL Mod I suppose but I like the quick interface of Noisemaker, I find I create more "happy accidents" on noisemaker. Obviously this is never going to happen and the dev shouldn't spend any time doing this because noisemaker already is extremely good for a free synth, but a man can wish.

My Submission
Dreamland
54 Instances of TAL NoiseMaker
Made in Logic Pro X. Logic compressors, EQs, etc used for mixdown. All FX used were onboard synth (reverb, delay, stereo FX, etc) with the exception of OTT which I used to get the highs up on some of the sounds.
I also learned how to use TDR NOVA for the first time which was used in the mixdown, and mastering duties were handled by Logic's linear phase EQ and an instance of Lim No 6, although i only saw the meters dipping 2 to 3 dB so it isn't doing a lot.
The only "trick" used in this track was I drove the master volume knob on the synth hard for a lot of sounds into a clipper to get some meat on some of the sounds.
Lots of automation. Lots.
much love.
