I think it's great that Mackie have made it a free download. But one problem - the piano roll isn't a patch editing wise on Music Studio Independence. More of an after thought. Maybe Tracktion 2 will fix this?

You know, now that I have finally got this thing to stop crashing, I have been getting into it a bit. It's definitely a nice program; I am very glad to finally see what the fuss is about re tracktion. And something that I have noticed is that while the piano roll is a bit different, it is also pretty cool once ya get used to it. True it took me a little while to get the feel of it, and I can see how some might become frustrated, I do think a little patience and practice is in order for those trying it for the first time. Give it a chance to grow on you before jumping on the TPRS bandwagon.

I am starting to find some of the actions really nice, actually. I could go on about this program for a while
but I won't. But, yeh, I am definitely starting to see why Tracktion has such loyal fans (and fanboys)

18 pages - too many to wade through to find an answer to my question, so sorry if I'm repeating here:
I registered over the weekend - Sunday I think - and I'm still waiting for the unlock code.
Anybody else still waiting?
It kinda makes me wonder if it's for real.
Getting bored of checking my mail box and waiting.

MIck, you have to log in to your Mackie-account and give your machine id - only after you did this you will receive and unlock code for your machine.Glassback wrote:18 pages - too many to wade through to find an answer to my question, so sorry if I'm repeating here:

When you open Tracktion there's an 'about'-button in the lower left corner of the screen.
When you click it there's your machine id written on the pop-up - 'This computer's machine number:'

I had that for half an hour. Went back to the page with "my products" and found the machine ID was back to zero. Filled it again, and noticed something I probably overlooked first time: at the bottom of the page you have to click a button or link in order to have it processed. Then within 5 secs it was in the mailbox.I'm still waiting for the unlock code.

did you plug your machine number into the box and hit 'create authorization' at mymackie?
I've done it twice, and received a keyfile almost instantaneously.
This is real!
I see it's already been answered twice!
I'm slow, still on my first cup of coffee.

Yes, filled in the machine code and clicked to create authorisation.
I've done everything correctly - and just so as you're sure, Multree, rsmus7 and tommo were all watching over me at the time to make sure.
I've emailed Mackie anyway, but that was a while ago as well and so far, heard nothing back.
Been waiting since Sunday for this bloody unlock code - been waiting since yesterday for a reply to my query.
From where I'm sitting, the customer service doesn't look too hot.
Consequently, if I've heard nothing by, say, the end of this week - which will be a week - I don't think I'll bother with the company for this, or any other, product.
Not a good start imo.

This morning I tried to re-register in case my application had somehow gone astray and got the message that I can't hold or apply for more than one license - yet currently, I have none!
Which tells me my application was processed but not completed.
And until it is I don't seem to be able to do anything about it.
Pretty damn shoddy if you ask me.

i'm not sure what email account you're using, but i've heard a few stories of the email getting eaten by spam/security measures. in hotmail for instance, check your junk mail, or deactivate any spam checking before re-requesting your code. or perhaps try setting up an alternative free email account to try; the most likely reason that you haven't gotten a response yet is to do with something not being right with the email.
just my tips anyway! good luck it really is worth it

I used my everyday account that my kvr topic reply notifications go to and all my real-world friends use.haydxn wrote:i'm not sure what email account you're using; the most likely reason that you haven't gotten a response yet is to do with something not being right with the email.

It's yahoo mail. I pay for it for the larger size file attachment facility.
Bulk mail goes into the bulk-folder (if it saw it as bulk), and I keep or delete it from there.
Absolutely nothing though I'm afraid.
But the email I sent them DID send a copy of itself to me (send to: me and mackie) so I'm receiving mail from their site OK at least.

I never got a single e-mail from Mackie with my main e-mail account... I had to get a guy from tech support to go into my account and send me my keyfiles... no changes I made to spam filters etc helped, and neither my isp nor Mackie could help. That went on for months until I set up a hotmail account and changed the e-mail in my Mackie account to that and created a new authorization... now I recieve them without a problem. Just save yourself a lot of frustration and set up a new free web based e-mail account as others have suggested.

Took an hour to get here from the change of address though, but at least now I have it, which makes me glad I asked the question here.
