1. You can add an instrument from drop-down while adding a track via dialog button, so that's almost there. Or via Instrument Rack in the Console (and then you have to assign an MIDI track to it in Arranger).
Its not the same as a simple right click and scroll through for a VST like in Logic and Cubase.
antic604 wrote: Fri Sep 03, 2021 2:13 pm 2. There's a speaker tool which I believe does what you mean?
I am surprised you do not know what a "scrub" tool is as you have Cubase ? Anyway it very slowly plays the audio to listen for artefacts as in the days of tape machines rocking the spools.

3. That's Ctrl+G
I tried it and it does not "glue" the two parts together like Pro Tools and Cubase does.
antic604 wrote: Fri Sep 03, 2021 2:13 pm 4. That sounds like a bug, although I never heard about it - gotta try
Maybe ?
antic604 wrote: Fri Sep 03, 2021 2:13 pm
5. Sure, but would that allow you to do something you can't do already?
In my favorite DAW of all time, now almost obsolete, EnergyXT, you have a separate window to connect stuff with wires. I loved it and used it all the time.
antic604 wrote: Fri Sep 03, 2021 2:13 pm 6. You can have fully light/bright GUI already and S1 comes with several "themes" out of the box
Thanks, I did not know that.

Would really like to see and would consider switching to one that made a really good version, if not the full thing, free to people in developing countries.

2. Sorry, I don't know every feature of every DAW I own. Just most :)

3. Sorry again, it's G by itself (by default, unless you changes the keyboard layout)

That's actually a good point, but also outside of the reach of the developers, no?
Then it could at least tell me how handsome & talented I am when I end a session

ill do that for you, if you come and hold my cups.

not sure how you can help with the independent timing per channel though...?

I use Cubase's variaudio constantly. If I had to go back to Ableton, I guess I'd look at Melodyne, etc.. but variaudio is integrated so well.

Wow! What a great response. I live in Brazil. There are alot of smart talented people here. The economics of the dollar and euro make it almost impossible for folk to purchase a popular DAW. For example.... Studio One pro is a months salary for a professional and nearly a quarter of a years salary for basic laborer
We jumped the fence because it was a fence not be cause the grass was greener.

Using Live's detail view to time correct or time tweak audio.

Post

1. Midi files review in the browser of Bitwig/Live (like in Cubase/S1)
2. Better markers system in Bitwig (Cubase is great)
3. Better automation in Live (no cc automation for hardware parameters on tracks)!

I know I'm repeating that again and again :hihi: Just hoping in the power of the repetitive brain washing strategy 🙏
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Reason - the rack is where I most enjoy sound design and generative musical ideas.
Live - the best clip launching implementation, which I use for composition. Plus max4live, offers some very unique creative opportunities.
Cubase - possibly the least unique daw but I just find it so comfortable to work in with all its qol features. Plus, I like the way that halion/ padshop/ grooveagent integrate with only cubase.

Bitwig is almost there but:
If I have to do a soundtrack to a video, I need to fire up Logic.
If I want to use a Max patch in the DAW I need to do it in Live. But two scenarios could solve it, either Max would reenable Pluggo (extremely unlikely), or Bitwig would integrate Pd, or enhance the Grid to be able to compete with Max/Pd…
For surround material or anything more than stereo I would need to do it in Reaper which replaced ProTools for such and similar needs…
ARA would be cool to have in Bitwig, but for the rare cases I need it, I would still do it in Bitwig, just run the material into Celemony for example… Its not worth to switch my DAW for ARA…

I would never stop using Max/MSP but fortunately that isn‘t a DAW…

I would so like to have "Bitwig Remote". Logic Remote really is awesome!

An Autotalent button! :tu:

I must be the easiest to please as I prefer fewer features and crap in my DAW over killer features. The only thing I miss is not having a well-integrated pitch correction tool for vocals, but I can live with a plug in.
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better? :(

To be implemented in which DAW?
Any free one. Waveform will do.
