Sorry, deleted it. As I said, I just dragged in all RS devices and saved.

For me it seemed like the brief delay when inserting a new device or flipping the rack to show its backside only happens the first time, and after that I can insert more instances of that device and flip the rack with no delays. I’ll have to test it again to see whether it maintains the cache across sessions (and reboots), or if the delay will happen the first time the front or back panel of each device is shown in each session.

How does that 7 day free trial work ?

Stop working after 7 days unable to open it, or 7 days full access then goes into demo mode and times out after 20 minutes after 7 days ?

How big is that download, 5 Gigabytes... if so I won't bother.... StudIo One is only around 200 meg.

It took 5 years for me to bother downloading Reason 10 and that was for a comparison test here.

I have the free Rack that I got from Focusright so that's about as up to date as I am regarding Reason.

I don't agree with the way they have done things in the past, and I'm glad I moved to S1 Pro which for me has been better value for money comparatively for core things I wanted, but they have bridged across to those who left them. I've not sold Reason and it's not like I burned all my Reason boxes in the back garden with a pitchfork in hand back in 2014.

I'm happy enough to watch others play with Reason 12, but I'm not going to trial something that's buggy out of the gates and not have recourse to trial it again properly if it doesn't allow me to, hence my question.

Meh, I'd wait if I were you. You know how these things go - it'll take a few maintenance updates/bug fixes to get things to the point where you'd feel better about it. Come back in a few months.

What bugs are people running into in Reason 12.2? Other than needing to manually update all my REs to get the high res versions, I haven’t had any issues so far.

There’s very few actually, but things aren’t quite “finished” yet. There’s still some hi-res assets missing in Reason DAW proper - not so much a bug, but it’s annoying. We’ve had some random reports of issues from some users (mostly on Mac it would appear, but Windows too), of some lag when loading hi-res assets, and a few users are reporting worse performance. I think a user or two reported a blatant crash right here in this thread (at least one user at Reasontalk lost 4 hours of work because Reason froze, and the user wasn’t aware that there was no auto-save and they never bothered to save their progress… in 4 hours of working… but that’s an entirely different topic IMHO)…

I’m not experiencing any issues on my system either, FWIW. But I’m sure a maintenance update will come out sooner rather than later.

Does anyone know whether legacy combinators can be opened the new combinator? If so, can you add additional knobs and other controls to those legacy combinators?

I get the sneaky feeling that Propellerheads are not putting any effort into improving the sequencing cause they see the future of Reason as a plugin rack for other hosts. I'm probably stating something obvious. Honestly, I remember giving it a go very early on, like version 2 or 3 and I don't see any significant difference in the sequencer now in 12! Probably been talked about to death but I haven't been keeping up with Reason throughout the years. As a "DAW" it doesn't seem very different. I do love being able to use the rack in other DAWS though.

I also don't see any significant changes in the sequencing in Ableton live, studio one, FL studio, bitwig, reaper, ect.
I keep seeing the same complaint but never understood what people are asking for

Yes you can do that.
Your saved patch with those changes can only be opened in R12 though. Opening it in earlier versions will give you a bad format prompt.

for owners of reason 11 intro. the offered update is 299. its the update to the standard 12 version. theres no other offer. its kinda compromise for the intro owners, cause its forcing them to buy the standard version, but after an initial rant i say, its an ok offer. its 299$ instead of 399$. could have been worse than that, no offer at all^^ ;D.

It may go on sale Black Friday too. Hopefully by then all the bugs will be squashed.
