I never noticed the Download folder you mentioned until you mentioned it, so I tried a few things. I disabled my network and the Arturia plugins still load up OK, but the folder is still created.

I went into the ASC settings (Preferences/Advanced) and unchecked the two checkboxes there and no download folder is created.

Personally, I’m not a fan of any Arturia UI besides Pigments (out of synths).

Cool, thanks that works. :tu: I posted the issue on the Arturia Forums back in May but never got a response.

Kind of smells like a bug. Having "delete installer" checked seems like it would clean up folders not create them. :?

Just loading the ASC created a new empty folder in downloads so it must have been the fact that it opens I assumed to do a copy protection check when loading a plugin rather than loading the plugin itself causing the folder to be created.

I wonder if there are any negative consequences to unchecking "Silent Install and download size optimization" ?

Edit: I notice that while unticking those boxes does stop the Arturia folder from being created in Downloads when loading Pigments, launching the ASC does still create that folder.

I blocked both the ASC and the agent.exe at the firewall:

And while Pigments still loads it did not change the length of time it takes to load. It's still running the agent.exe on startup even if it can't get through the firewall.

As one of my favorite digital synths I really hope they nail the sound. I still use the old 32 bit classic in Reaper but a new version with all the bells and whistles would be most welcome.

Never used the original one and wonder what will it brings to the table on the software side ?

Hopefully more waveforms, filter types, etc. plus an Advanced section similar to the one used in many of the Arturia synths.

That very good news, will be interesting to check. I remember in Siegfried Kullmann device was some switcher between different modes (engine revision or emulation character ?) that could add really alive things to sound and variability, would be good if Arturia add something similar mode schoosing. Imo one of most interesting thing in that device.

Siegfried, or Sigi as he addressed himself, did a really wonderful job with the SQ8L plugin. But yes, I will be happy to have these sounds in a modern 64-bit VST3 now via Arturia. I'm not sure if he ever got to realizing the full, eXtended version. I'm hopeful Arturia will be giving this one the full treatment. :harp:

Thanks for posting this, OP, too.

So, was this an unauthorized leak, since the original content has been pulled?

What kind of amateurs are software companies teaming up with, to get beta testers that are clueless and breaking NDAs by live streaming the very stuff they're not supposed to?

I'm afraid, as a company you have to work with such people nowadays.

It can also work against them, if they team up with some clown, as it can reflect poorly on the company.

I personally try to pay as little attention to any "influencers" as possible. I don't want them influencing anything that I do, and I consider the majority of them to be talentless people with a laughable title that is neither deserved nor earned.

They are basically prostitutes, if they are getting any sort of compensation or payment for doing product placement, and I don't ask prostitutes their opinion when looking for synth news or tips.

Regardless, this is why NDA's exist.

Exactly, this is much better advert than anything you will see on launch date, it'll be ultra cheesy and than rest flooded with "influencers", this thing at least looked honest and somehow "real", even if it's indeed a screw up.
