I like the DX UI, at least compared to the original. It's actually useable.

All arturia synths are crap....

There, I said it.

I am hoping that they somehow get access to the Ensoniq kingdom so that they can do the DP/4 and the EPS. Pretty much anything that Arturia has done in the last 4 or 5 years has been well received.

I actually kinda dig their preamp modeling plugs. Also the old SparkLE (with their hardware controller).

But the V collection. Mmm...fun for what they are (but equivalents they're not).

Thanks for pointing this out, I've skipped a deal on one 2 years ago, and since then some good videos appeared with this unit. VFX and Fizmo were also talked about earlier - this shouldn't be too far away, would also make sense to involve these VLSI chip stuff.

Nevertheless I'm eagerly waiting for the SQ-80. I like how Arturia did the CZ V, DX7 and Vocoder V. I consider them quite fun to use, and I am convinced they will also do their best with this one.
Much better than lugging around a hw synth and keeping it alive especially when storage space is not an option.

Agreed , I have a few working vintage pieces here that have been emulated to a level that I can more than live with. My EPS is on the fritz and it will be a sad day when my DP/4 eventually but inevitably gives up the ghost. I bought a Hydrasynth to scratch that Fizmo itch but space is becoming an issue and my wife and I are soon transitioning to a more mobile lifestyle from May to October. I’ll be mostly in the box for those months.

Some of their earlier releases fell short of the mark but they seem to have upped their game in recent times.
Perhaps they have better coders these days?

The newer synths have much better GUI's and sound great. Pigments is just one of the best synths ever made and is a joy to program. Surprised anyone would think they are all crap! lol

3 years ago I would have agreed but nowdays Arturia is absolute top notch. :)

I like many of their plugins, and not only the synths. I know they updated the code for the Mini and Jup-8 V which is great, but I am not sure if they did that with any of the other older plugins.

All of them have gotten updates. This is one of the reasons I am liking this company. Keeping their back catalog relevant is important to me. Too many developers release, update and forget. Universal Audio is about the worst and I am slowly abandoning them despite a significant amount of tied up cash in hardware and plugins. Ongoing development with something that you use is really appreciated. IK has been doing the same lately. Both companies have impressed me enough in software that I am using their hardware now.
