Easiest way is to navigate into the plugin bundle in Terminal, and go to the Contents/MacOS directory, and run:bmanic wrote: Mon Sep 06, 2021 2:28 pm I'm a bit confused.. but it looks like Tone 2 ElectraX, Icarus and Gladiator 3.0 are indeed native ARM versions when run as AU plugins (The VST and VST3 versions clearly say x86 when run in Reaper and they refuse to open in FL Studio). Also Reaper doesn't say "bridged x86" when the AU versions are opened there.
.. or then I am wrong about FL Studio not being able to bridge stuff (I know it can't bridge VST plugins nor VST3)?
Somebody remind me how I can with absolute certainty check the AU plugins if they are native or not?
Code: Select all
file <binary name>Code: Select all
$ cd /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST/Serum.vst/Contents/MacOS
$ file Serum

Most of the Audec effects are now native (exceptions being StereoScope, CombSpread, StereoImage and Formant)

I got the answer. Tone 2 older stuff is NOT native arm compatible, even as AU plugins. It's just that native arm version of FL Studio is able to load AU files due to the automatic rosetta 2 to arm translation layer that happens with AU plugins.
So no, Tone 2 stuff is not Native ARM compatible yet.

It's not automatic, but has to be supported specifically by the developer. I was in contact with Rogue Amoeba when they went M1 native, and it didn't bridge at first until they enabled it, after my gentle encouragement.bmanic wrote: Fri Sep 10, 2021 1:56 pm I got the answer. Thank you for doing the check. I'll update the FL listing in an update, probably later today.

I've found ArchiChect to be flaky, not always giving the right answer. Perhaps they've improved it of late.discoDSP wrote: Fri Sep 10, 2021 7:55 amOr get ArchiChect https://eclecticlight.co/32-bitcheck-archichect/ and drop the file to the dock icon.teilo wrote: Fri Sep 10, 2021 12:20 am Easiest way is to navigate into the plugin bundle in Terminal, and go to the Contents/MacOS directory, and run:

That’s great to hear. Reason Studios announced native M1 support for an upcoming December update, so that pretty much just leaves Ableton Live and Cubase. Oh, and ProTools although I suspect they're entwined with iLok and can't proceed without them.mariusl32 wrote: Tue Sep 14, 2021 3:35 pm Presonus Studio One 5.4 was just released with native M1 support

Reason going native is fantastic news.Tronam wrote: Tue Sep 14, 2021 8:08 pmThat’s great to hear. Of all the bundles I own though, only AAS are there, so Reasons instruments and FX as native is huge. That puts me over the top for upgrading to 12.

Yeah, my bad - lesson learnedteilo wrote: Sat Sep 04, 2021 4:20 pmDidn't you yourself verify that in this case (VADrums2) it IS a Universal Binary? How is that misleading?Atlatnesiti wrote: Fri Sep 03, 2021 10:32 pmMisleading advertising I’m afraid…teilo wrote: Fri Aug 27, 2021 11:36 am A "universal application" is not the same thing as "Universal Binary 2". Can't check it without installing on the Appstore.
Also, please don't bother with reports of iOS apps like Sunrizer for this thread. Unless there is an actual macOS app (for example, like the Moog Model 15), I am not including it for the aforementioned reasons.

Formatting on the effects is messed up, shows all the effects after Voxengo as being under Voxengo.
That sounds like nitpicking, and I suppose it is, but not because I don't appreciate this thread.
Really came here to post:

Intel or M1 (Native/Rosetta) processor
It's their only plug with this though, and I don't have it so I can't say for sure.
