is this the same device as the Radiator?
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Not exactly, we have been playing around with different Tube Types, a 3-band EQ and some very different BIAS settings. Additionally, we have modelled from the "real" circuit, making use of the full potential of modern days CPUs.

well, Radiator is based on an Altec preamp, it does have a line/mic switch, and it does have a 3-band EQ :D just to clarify: i'm not asking if this is "the same as Radiator", more of a "is this based on the same exact device" in the same way VLA-FET is based on the same device (or class of devices) Waves CLA-76 is.

I'm sure I'm not the only person who'd be curious...was Rey involved in the DSP for this one or one of the other developers you work with?

Short answer: yes, they're both models of the Altec 1567A.

in my opinion yes.. it does sound lovely. really excels on buses.. the drum bus in particular with tube type "C". i have the radiator and in my opinion the omni has smoother saturation at least to my ear but i don't open anything up wide open. as with most anything though... a little goes a long way.

cheers

Hi Funkybot’s Evil Twin! No involvement on my end this time.

I have played around with it the other day and I found it very responsive/lively.

Have a great weekend.

Best,
Ray

The intro price is already quite reasonable.

For the sound quality, it is quite tempting.

That's two new things that I don't need but do want.
