For those that care, the Propellerheads puzzle has been completed (with me posting the very first and very last puzzle piece locations, no less

), and here's what it looks like:

Some questions are now answered, but more have been raised.

Okay.

To test Reason 3.0, you need to be a registered Reason 2.5 owner. If you haven't registered Reason 2.5 yet, please go to the registration page to register.

If you are sure you have registered already, maybe you registered using another account. Please close the web browser to log out and come back using the right account.

That's all the real information that exists right now. For speculation, you should visit the official P'head board or ReasonStation. Keep in mind that the beta testing invite and this picture are the only official tidbits from the company.

And of course you don't speak Spanish. If you did, you would have written Adios, not A Dios.

J/K -- it appears to be a preview either of what's coming in Reason 3 or another stand-alone product. I think Reason 3.

Hard to be sure from just a picture, but many people have been asking for a way to group modules together in Reason, making a semi-self-contained unit like the "macros" in some systems.

A wrapper-upper. I'm hoping that's what this does.

I also found a big empty box near the Pitch Wheel, back when it was the last missing piece before Ola would post a new set of pictures.

Can you tell I'm proud of my accomplishments?

You ought not to be sheepish! You must've been pretty sharp to recognize a plain block of flat color as a puzzle piece.

It's also the most mysterious of all the pieces.

I am not a Reason user so I could be very wrong, but it looks like something for layering patches from various synths/fx and storing them as one preset. Like a chainer device of some sort.

Well, dunno about that. :-) Consider: when 2.5 came along, I was wowed by the vocoder and the Scream unit. Turned out that the least impressive-looking of all the new units -- the Spiders -- were perhaps the most powerful and user-empowering additions, more so than the big flashy modules.

For ages, heaps of people have been asking for this kind of thing (assuming it's what most people are guessing it is). I think it'll be an excellent and very powerful addition to the ol' toolbox.

Think of some of the lashups Joachim Hillestad has come up with, or some of the other Reason geniuses. Pretty good stuff there, and they'd be even better if they could be packaged more neatly, IMO.

Still, I'm sure Reason 3 will have other cool surprises.

Oh, yes. I'm sure of it! The suspense is killing^H^H^H^H^H^H^H enlivening me.

Revolutionary? No. But I'd be awfully surprised if they would give a sneak preview of their most interesting unit. That's not really their style. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be the least "significant" (read: sexy) new device in R3.

The Props are into understatement. This is a doomsday device! They're also into ROUTING, my guess is you'll be able to do all kinds of insane stuff with this.
