Btw Funkybot... wasn't it you who tweaked the Ikka Rosma skin for better contrast? That might need redoing now :)

Post

The manual now opens as expected with the latest build, the build number is displayed, no flickering while flipping through the presets... so you nailed it.

Now the manual could do with an overhaul to reflect the new default skin, maybe ?

Post

Yeah, I’ll do a manual revision before 2.5 release.

Ask and ye shall receive. It's just a brighter background. The old version was a bit bigger but since there's proper resizing now there's really no need. Made creating a new version much easier. ;)

Revised manual can be found at https://www.discodsp.com/pdf/obxd.pdf

I also found an issue using retina bitmaps on macOS, not sure about Windows but looks like hi-res assets are not initially loaded. Will fix prior to 2.5 release.

If someone here has Hi-DPI on Windows please test VST/VST3 and report back if the problem also happens (GUI loads @1x assets instead @2x/@4x assets, it's easily noticeable).

Hi discoDSP, question about the resizable giu: is it also possible to add different sizes? There's now 1.5x an 2x, but would for instance 1.25x or 1.75x also be possible? Or would that produce aliasing or blur or something like that in the bitmaps?

Yes, it may introduce artifacts, specially on Windows. The only sizes are 1x, 1.5x and 2x.

ok, thanks!

Hi there,

I'm a new user of OBXD. I love it!

I have a question: I use it in Mainstage and it works, however when I send a bank change or program change from my synth to Mainstage, the active OBXD changes too. The program- and bank change is only meant for Mainstage, so my question is:

How can I make OBXD to ignore bank and program changes? So that it stays on the current patch?

Post

Isn't supposed to be the correct behaviour? The filtering should be done via DAW I think.

Post

This is my situation:
- a patch in Mainstage with OBXD work normally; I selected Bank 021 - Vivolator, patch: OBXD theme
When I select that patch in Mainstage I hear the correct sound from OBXD

but...
- I send a bank change from my synth (or iPad) to mainstage (for example MSB 0 LSB 11 PG 44), mainstage knows: ah that's eg. "Prince 1999" and opens OBXD, but... OBXD also receives the MSB 0 LSB 11 PG44 and changes the sound from 021 - Vivolator, patch: OBXD theme to something else.

So I cannot select the correct sound in OBXD using external bank and program changes. Mainstage already has set the correct patch in OBXD, so OBXD doesn't need to change (and listen to the midi information)

I hope I explained this good enough, otherwise please let me know.

I will look into midi filtering in mainstage; I found some information. I hope this could be a solution. Thanks for pointing this out. I'll let you know if it worked.

Update: found the solution. Someone answered this question for Logic in another forum, i quote CCTMusic:
---
Select the Concert in the Patch List and then the MIDI tab in the Concert Settings pane.
Uncheck 'Send unused Program Changes to Channel Strips"
This stops Program Messages that are NOT being used for Patch changing being transmitted to the channels.
---
That's it, and it works!

New nightly https://www.discodsp.net/obxd-nightly/
  • Build set as 2.5 Release Candidate 2.
  • Fixed plugin version repaint issue using wrong assets on Hi-DPI displays.
Consider this one as the official 2.5 If no more big issues are found.
