I hope they do plugin bridging ala Logic/Bitwig... so you can run in M1 mode but still access Intel plugins which haven't been "Siliconed" yet...

Expanding your market to a new user base generates additional revenue that will pay for additional developers. I am 100% sure that all of these companies crunch their numbers to make sure that this is not a loss. The idea that dropping a part of your user base will open up developers that you can then use to develop other stuff is silly.

Really? That's why Apple stopped all development for Windows of ALL the products they bought then, and keeps closing their platform.mgw38 wrote: Tue Sep 14, 2021 12:42 pm The idea that dropping a part of your user base will open up developers that you can then use to develop other stuff is silly.
They probably don't have a clue about their business. You should apply for the job of CEO

Microsoft could indeed buy Presonus or image Line and limit further development to the Windows platform. They could do that because they can offset any resulting losses by bringing some users into the Windows ecosystem. But this is not what we are talking about here, isn’t it. Neither image Line nor Presonus have a stake in the OS market.fmr wrote: Tue Sep 14, 2021 1:16 pmReally? Its very short sited to compain about the Apple M1 development, because ultimately it will benefit all users, of all platforms. Apple have done an amazing job in creating such an energy effiecient CPU such is the M1. Intel has taken note and is developing a similar "biglittle" CPU design. The competition will force all CPU makers to hit new energy targets and make for a much better, quieter experience for everyone regardless of OS, especially for laptop users. And Microsoft in turn are also developing there own arm chip if rumours arre correct. I guess reports will soon come back as to whether Studio One runs well or not on an M1 and we will see if the development was worth it.
And, nope, I do not own an Apple computer, windows here.

He means, that now it would be without dialog window popup that freezes studio one for a moment of saving. It is pretty annoying in big projects.antic604 wrote: Tue Sep 14, 2021 2:27 pmAutosave has been there for couple of versions already, I believe?

I believe developers are also eager to take advantage of the big performance boost that comes with Native M1 support. It benefits developers and customers.antic604 wrote: Tue Sep 14, 2021 2:25 pm+1dellboy wrote: Tue Sep 14, 2021 2:19 pm Its very short sited to compain about the Apple M1 development, because ultimately it will benefit all users, of all platforms. Too bad... I hope to see more tab configs or even a custom tab notation (for writing on other tunings like Seven String Drop A for example) I hope to see an option to unfold the settings bar on each plugin's window... I hope to see more flex for sound variations as multiple sound variations at time... I hope to see...

Does 5.4 support VST and/or AU bridging via Rosetta2 when running on Arm?

I suspect not, otherwise they'd be shouting about it from the rooftops.teilo wrote: Tue Sep 14, 2021 4:10 pmDoes 5.4 support VST and/or AU bridging via Rosetta2 when running on Arm?
FL Studio has only started working on bridging having released M1-native version few days ago, so apparently it's only Logic and Bitwig that can do that (not sure about Reaper).
