Bespoke Synth is a free modular synth environment with VST hosting, built in modules like synths, samplers, sequencers, modulators, effects etc. and python livecoding support and it's available for Mac, Windows and Linux.
This 10 years old project of the developer Ryan Challinor is now officially released to the public with full documentation and a new website.
Bespoke is free, but you can pay for it if you want to ("To be extra clear: all three versions of Bespoke above are identical, they are the exact same files. You are completely welcome to use Bespoke for free forever without paying anything, guilt-free" )

This looks great!
I know and love Sunvox, but what is AGL (I assume HH is Usine Hollyhock)?

Love the 'versions' comparison chart
I'd promised myself I'd work on actual music tonight rather than dick about with new software but...

It's deep but quite approachable. At times made me feel like I was playing with the son of Energy XT and Audiomulch but with way more nice visual guides to what's going on. Which is great! As conscienceware(?) it's totally worth the $15. One heck of a personal project!

Doesn't appear that this is available any more - is that correct?

This is impressive, only scratched the surface, it's incredible what open source can achieve. Im pretty sure I'll be donating to this one. Thank you Ryan Challinor!

Haven't had a lot of time to play with this, but it seems fantastic from what I've seen. Really cool stuff!

Gotta say Bespoke looks interesting.
Great that you can see the data flow through the cables.
Hope that can be turned on and off.
Bespoke is a stand-alone but is it also a VSTi plugin.
Great that it can host VST's.
For me the big problem with HollyHock is that it will not
run as a VST so hope Bespoke can.
Is it multi-touch capable?
