The story is that Jeff turned up to make a record and Nile Rodgers said to him,"where's your guitar?",so Jeff said,"just rent me something"...

A few small adjustments by Jeff and it was time to make the record :tu:

Talking versatility. The Steve Morse Music Man is not bad. 2 SC, 2 HB, 11 pickup positions.

Sold my Variax JTV-69. Gigged with it for a few years but to be honest the drop D tuning was all I ended up using most of the time so now I just use my HHH Strat.

PRS is your desert island guitar.
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

I personally think that Suhr are the most versatile and full of characters guitars ever made.

The Suhr backplate silent single coil system sounds exactly like real single coils, much more than the Kinman, Fender, Seymour Duncan, Lace, and Dimarzio hum-canceling single coils do. The problem is positions 2 and 4 have a little hum (1 BPSSC canceling 2 pickups). Also, in the bridge position, I now prefer the smoother, fatter sound of the Fender Vintage Noiseless and Dimarzio HS-3 over real single coils.

I'm vaguely aware of such things as variax, but hex pups are very versatile, allowing detuning

I heard that with these- they are almost a modelling pick-up==>

ImageActually ended up with a deal on reverb. The original ML3 Bea was $1400 on release. Been selling for about 900-1000 now. Offered $300 under asking and they accepted (just a music shop selling for someone). Comes with hard shell and trem. Super pumped.

Nice catch.
I was surprised who World Musical Instruments manufacture for.

This thread inspired me to upgrade my Strat. I installed the LSR nut and it's an absolute revelation! After all my years of messing with bridges, locking tuners, string trees, and graphite nuts, this has made the biggest difference of all. Recommended!

I also upgraded the pickups to the Fender Ultra Vintage Noiseless. I installed them in a new pickguard and ordered some pin and socket connectors to make it so I can easily swap between the two pickguards. The sound is much better balanced than the original Vintage Noiseless and has the single coil zing in the high-end that the originals lack. I still love the smooth bridge position of the originals for leads, which is why I'm planning to swap the pickguards pretty regularly.

I hear that the new Fendonus guitars are pretty good and the Presender guitars are worth checking out

I'm actually planning on doing basically the same pup change for my warmoth at xmas, the warmoth is a hardtail (emg 81/89)...I want available to me the mid/neck combo on my favorite guitar, I have two Ibanez's with the switching but one is a g10 my son bought me and I modded and the other is my prestige but it has a FR and I want a basic strat for alternate tunings. (gonna be an xmas gift).

in another topic i complain about brand new Ibanez S521 having fret buzz, which was very disappointing,it takes few days to adjust it and now is ok - pickups are really nice,so for 362 euro this is probably one of the best cheap guitars on the market.
I really enjoy playing with it and it's real pleasure with all development of vst guitar fx to experiment with bunch of vst, last time i play el guitar was another decade and now fx are on another (pleasure)level.
Next guitar i want to have is ESP LTD EC-1000VB/Duncan - any opinion about it:

Also im super enthusiast about playing Start, but if budget is still tight maybe SQ :)
Cheers :)

I'm glad it worked out for you, I'll admit I was a little nervous for you attempting to adjust the truss rod...good job :tu:

The LTD 400's and 1000's from 15 years ago were excellent. I can't speak about current productions. Is the 1000 still made in Korea? Even if it is, a lot of Korean instruments are now mostly being made in China so it might not be as good as Korean instruments from 10 years ago. That's pure speculation. Anyway, my recommendation would be to find a used one from around 2005-2012, hopefully with a maple top.

Also, in Europe you can get the FGN Les Pauls. Get one of those. We can't buy them here. I would choose one of those over most real Gibsons.
