Purchased the Oberheim bank this morning and gave it a whirl--the Tabernacle Choir is a "wow" patch for me; the overall quality of the bank is superb. It's the first bank I've purchased for Rhino, and now I'm compelled to get the Moog banks, damn it. :) Excellent programming Daniel.

The "Tabernacle Singers", "Moonlight", "Spacey Brass" and "Slow Bows" were the ones that put me over the edge, but the other demos were fine too.

Thanks! Ever since laying my hands on a friend's OB-Xa nineteen years ago I've been in love with that sound. Then the Matrix 12 came out... Wow! However, they were prone to staying out of tune, heavy and don't forget expensive.

Rhino gave me the chance to take those great sounds, have fun and maybe make them better, too. The next bank will focus on lead and bass patches with CO3 offering more polysynth sounds to finish out the series. You will then have a large library of samples with which to shape your own ideas. Or, try layering these waves with those from other banks for huge layers.

The reactions whenever Daniel releases a new bank never fail to bring a big smile to my face ! And, well, sorry Wusik guys, but I hope Daniel will stick to Rhino to work his magic. Then again Daniel, if that's a wise move for your business, just do it :-)

I tried to buy it, but the plastic is pretty bouncy at the moment

I've got all of Daniel's other Rhino banks, and I just love them, top quality work, I'm sure this won't disappoint.

Funny thing I never posted about at KvR - I don't normally buy presets. I never have, ever. Daniel's sets for Rhino are the first and only ones i've ever bought.

Why? Its a good question. I'm not a preset whore, I like to roll my own, but I'm happy to have made an exception - for me Rhino is such a lovely synth, and the patch library is what gets the preset thing working for me in it. With other synths, I just cannot be arsed to go browsing and loading .fxb files. Forget it, just too much of a hitch in the process.

Rhino doesn't have this problem, and the banks integrate beautifully in. So for a huge change for me, this is a synth that I'm actually loving loading up as many banks as I can.

Now I find Daniel's work totally usuable! So that's the other side of the story. The Bread N' Butter stuff turns Rhino into almost a workstation, and the Moog, Morpheous and Textures sets give it completely new flavours - and I never have to browse to a damn .fxb!

So Tick and Daniel, you guys are changing my habits, and I find myself using so many different presets as starting points. I can't see buying presets for any other synth, to be honest, but I'll probably always be in line for Daniel's stuff.

Sadly, thanks to bouncy plastic, I'll be waiting 'till after Xmas to add these Oberheim flavours, but I know I'll be glad when I do.

You guys rule 8)

i think i can comfortably say i out goofussed (?) you
having managed to buy three copies of bnb2 over the last few months. once on purpose, the second time also on purpose as i forgot i'd got it, searched back over emails to check but looked for bread and butter not bnb  and the third time by randomly clicking on it instead of the oberheim banks. you should have heard the language when i received the download link
don't worry, i am not allowed to operate dangerous machinery, well not very often

lol - I understand about bouncy plastic, my credit card has US$1.92 left on it now! Fun, eh? :P

Not to sound like a hopeless fanboy but I'd preorder from Daniel, I have such faith in his ability to design Rhino presets. Everything he's done is amazingly useable and, since I have the sound design/synth programming skills of a weeks-dead rat, I kind of live and die by presets! :-o

Hopefully I'll have room on the plastic by the time CO2 and CO3 come out! :hihi: :help:
