LVC-Audio LimitedMAX v3 is great and my mastering limiter now.

I started using it exclusively as my mastering limiter. It's holding up pretty well. 3x is needed , and dont push it crazy hard and it's good to go. I could probably learn the internal chain more especially the clipper but I tend to use the one I'm used to a bit more.

Who said it was comparable to Pro L and Limitless ?

I use Limitless as my final mastering limiter. For me, Limiter 6GE is not a contender against Limitless for my uses. Limiter 6GE get's used for other tasks however. It's a prefectly fine limiter.

I have a feeling Pro L2 will be mine in the future , but for now I will use L6 .

I just decided to pick up TDR limiter 6 and boy, it's deep. I could see a learning curve with this going on for a very long time, what with all the routing options, different combinations of multiband and mid-side modes etc.. I got very nice results straight away on electronic music, so I'm pleased with it.

Thanks, yes, I'm a big fan of his YouTube content and watch all of it, whether I own the plugins or not. I seem to go round in circles and rewatch some periodically as the deeper aspects of some of the plugins reveal themselves.

Having used both they do different thing, but they can be combined nicely together too.

In Insane mode, you can absolutely slam the limiter without it breaking up. Despite what Dan Worrall said about Precise mostly sounding the same, this is one area where Insane makes a difference.

Also, I have learned so much the past 2 weeks from Dan Worrall and bmanic. Many thanks to both.

It is a great limiter and tbh the whole plugin is great, but i've been blown away by Pro L2 , so clean and so transparent.

TBH since i replied this topic earlier, Softube MM-1 has become my favourite limiter.

I’m using Softube MM-1 a lot recently too, loving the punch setting. Changed from primarily using Toneboosters. I’ll still use the clipper and HF limiter from Limiter 6 before the MM-1 though. Limiter 6 also gets some use on individual tracks at times, it’s a great plugin, I just don’t use it for final limiting. I often use the clipper and/or HF limiter on the drum buss too.

I just bought this for mastering purposes, found the order of:
HF limiting to tame high end as needed->
compressor with levelling setting GR 0.5-1db ->
clipper with settings to taste, trying mostly to get transparent boost( open mode) ->
Peak limiter with GR jumping up to 3-4db
Final limiter GR at 0, but that can be pushed if wanted too, but its not neccessary in my music, unless -5 or so LUFS is needed.

I've tried the vladg version of this before but it was overly complicated. Yesterday I demoed this TDR GE version and fell in love, maybe the new UI helps and . For me this beats Pro L-2, probably because I learned how to use Limiter 6 better, and I know how to control different areas of the sound with a lot more confidence with Limiter 6.

I think this is very beastly.

Limiter 6 GE is fantastic, certainly on par (if not better) with Pro-L. My only issue: even in eco mode it eats a lot of CPU. If at least the eco mode could be further CPU improved, than bouncing at highest quality mode. The CPU tax is not an issue though if you start a separate session for mastering with only a few plugins on the master bus.

I still haven't used this a huge amount, but went through a process of experimenting with the various multiband modes, different module orders etc., and came to some conclusions along the way, or so it seemed. After all that I thought, well let's A/B that with the most basic arrangement of just single band clipping and limiting, no frills, and funnily enough the results were preferable with almost no tweaking, and absolutely fine for loudness levels appropriate for streaming.
