What is your core software for live play?

Looking for ideas to change the ways I've been doing things in music. Part of that is in minimizing to a more core element of my approach to it.

Wondering...

Do you play live using only your computer? Do you play strictly solo or in a band or is it time-project contractual? Is your genre specific or generalized? And what controllers are you using live?
So what do you consider to be your "core" plugins and sound before adding additional "also used"-"specialty sounds" plugins?
And what hosts are you using for these plugins for live play?
