Pretty bold claim...

Also, is the guy slightly drunk, or it's some US accent I'm not familiar with? :scared:

Mixbus32c seems to be on sale now (~105EUR)

He has a Southern US accent. He's actually toning it down, but I would guess Mississippi or Alabama. He may also be drunk, but that's not evident here.:D

Mixbus always seems to be on sale...

sounds like he 'moved' down South and just picking up the brogue on certain words. probably a 'carpet bagger' lol

as for Mixbus "better" is quite subjective. i have it and i will say it HAS a sound on it's own compared to other DAWs but i would not say better. it is good for some things but other things it sounds muddy... it doesn't do electronic music well in my opinion. but if you want a good 'warm' pop sound it is great. again in my opinion. it is also pretty good at rock

I always thought that Harrison Mixbus has its own sound. Until I saw this review:

Sure, it‘s not the Mixbus DAW, only the Mixbus channel strip VST. But I am suddenly no longer sure if there actually is something special to Mixbus.

A lot of things look similar indeed, but is there any concrete info about how they're related?

They've added some of their own DSP tech to the mixer and re-skinned it. Harrison is a large sponsor of the Ardour open source project and they have some influence of the development roadmap.

As PeterP mentioned above...

You certainly have to be careful with their marketing claims.

You have to be careful with any marketing claims. Only with open source you could proof such claims…
Falsifying is easier as showed in the video…
