Cubase SX audio editing output in dBs?

Just a thought to save myself trawling through the manual again. What I want to do is chop off the tails of some reverb impulses I've got. I can do it several ways...generally I go into the audio editor and zoom in until I can see where the wave ends or at least where it appears to reach the noise floor. I also downloaded a noise removal app called Silrem - pretty straight forward....but the problem is where some of the impulses have a definite noise floor - obviously recorded through analogue outputs rather than digital. And it gets pretty difficult to find the exact point where the reverb ends and the noise begins.

Is there some way of changing the audio graph so that it shows the Y-axis as actual dB output rather than the usual 0-100 nonsense? The metering isn't fine enough for that type of job, and looping a really quiet section often gets crackles as it loops between start and end if it's not exactly on a zero crossing.

I know there's the delete silence function, but I want to know exactly what dB levels I need to be using to delete them, and many of the impulses have different noise floors it seems. I could be farting around forever using slightly too low a dB threshold and not actually deleting anything.

It's not really a big thing as I have plenty of grunt under the PC bonnet, but I would like to optimise the CPU useage for these impulses - if the noise tails are there it will use unnecessary CPU, and I found in some of the impulses tails of one or two seconds even.
And because they're 24bit, I don't want to risk removing the really fine detail of the last bit...that would defeat the object of using them in 24bit.

I'm just being really nitpicky with the impulses. But it'd be nice to zoom into a point and immediately read out the dB output is all.

In the meantime, back to the manual...it's not my favourite bedtime reading, that's for sure. :?

Forgot to mention I'm on the last version of SX2...not gone to 3 yet.

And I can use one of several analysers I have to find output, but it just gets that little bit more fiddly to be toggling back and forwards all the time. I have several options of doing the same thing, but the quickest would be if I can get SX to give me an editor dB reading. (It's probably been staring me in the face ever since I got SX2.....but y'know....)

right click the 0-100 'nonsense', and select db.

Aha! Thanks...I knew there'd be a real obvious easy answer to this one

no prob.
