DAW settings PLEASE

Here is my setup :

1 laptop running Win10
1 DAW Cakewalk by Bandlab + various VST synths
1 Tascam 2x2 sound module hooked via USB
1 Tapco 100 mixer ( audio output to the Tacam 2x2 )
1 Novation Mininova SYNTH ( audio stereo output to the Tapco mixer + USB pc connection)
1 Korg Krome SYNTH (( audio stereo output to the Tapco mixer + USB pc connection )


I'am able to record midi from my 2 Hardware synths in my DAW
I'am also able to record midi tracks from VST synths in my DAW

But, i can't capture audio from my hardware synths to my DAW... I'm forced to do it in 2 steps ( midi recording then bounce to audio).

Any idea of what I miss ?

An audio interface? From your setup, I can't tell if you have one, but it doesn't seem so (or does the Tascam sound module double as an audio interface)?

What exactly are trying to achieve, and what steps do you follow to achieve it?

OK then (he called it a "sound module"). But in that case, I don't understand what is the problem. He can either record the audio output of the hardware synths directly, or bounce later using a MIDI track to play them back. If he can record them later (as he wrote), he should be able to record them anytime.

If your hardware synths do not send audio over USB,

then I see you're using the Tapco mixer before sending it into the computer

That's the situation, has the tapco thing proved to work like this yet?

If not plug it in and select the driver and the input(s).

I'm assuming that the Tascam is the audio interface into which your hardware synths audio outputs are connected, correct? If so, then you're not missing anything - you need to do it in two steps because MIDI and audio are separate types of tracks. After you've got the MIDI track the way you want it, create an audio track with whichever input on your Tascam is receiving audio from your synth, arm the track to record, and record the audio in real time as the MIDI channel is playing back into the synth. Also, be aware that, depending on your settings and buffer size, there may be a slight delay in the recorded audio, so you may need to go back and nudge the audio track to the left by a few ms after it's recorded to compensate for latency and realign it with the MIDI.

The other option is to skip the MIDI track and just record-arm an audio track in your DAW and perform/record the part in real time. You can also record the MIDI simultaneously on a separate MIDI track, in case you slip up or want to preserve the performance to edit at a later time.
