Thanks, yes I think I know what it is. If you close all instances of OPS7 and try the menu again, I assume this will not happen until you add more presets?
But unrelated to this (which I admit is a menu bug), I'm surprised at the workflow. The design behind our top presets was to capture a full setup of potentially two layers (A+B) along with effects. If you just want to switch between factory SYSEX ROM sounds, I would assume one would just load them in A, and use program changes live to instantly load any of the 32 sounds.
Cheers

For the record, I was getting the "fourfold" number from your thought experiment. I don't actually think posting announcements on some forums or whatever would lead to a 4x increase in sales. But yes, you're correct, developers can do whatever they want with their businesses, including making poor business decisions.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 3:17 pm
We don't know it will be a fourfold increases in sales, nor do we know what the increase in support will be. I think the developer knows more about his business and how to run it than we do and while it's fun to think about how we would do things differently (from the outside), it's literally not our business. It's his. If he'd rather spend his time researching and developing more plugins versus trying to promote his products and push more sales, and everything else that entails, that's his choice. He pretty much stated as much. I respect that.
Cool, great. I thought about making one over there, but I don't want anybody accusing me of getting paid by Plogue. Not sure why you need to get a dig in at Cherry for no reason in every thread though.gentleclockdivider wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 4:00 pm.
Which I why I created the thread on gearslutz, and based on those responses , plogue has a winner on his hands .
Unlike other other companies , plogue places accuracy above marketing and I applaud that .
A product this good will get recognized sooner or later ( it alread has ) , no marketing cherry bubble

Having had and programmed (badly) a DX9 back in the day this feels more like a Yamaha thing than FM7/8 ever did.
Was there mention of a possible TX816 in the future with 8 seperate modules?

Fact that the previous thread was deleted is worrying , there was no bikkering whatsoever and the product was received verry enthusiastically .

New thread

Asking why it was deleted ( don't forget that Arturia is regular advertiser at gearslutz ) , could be a reason ,no ?

This is what I was asking about in an earlier post... wrapping my head around the patch/preset workflow. Maybe I'm being a little OCD here, but to me presets are presets, whether they are simple or complex. I especially like having the original hardware factory presets in an accurate emulation like this, for nostalgia if nothing else. Arturia DX7 V lets me just import a bank and have quick access to 1000's of old DX7 presets. I can then tweak them with effects, etc and Save or Save As. OPS7 is just very tedious in this regard - if I find old patches I like I have to make sure I load them in the "- Init -" preset and then save and name them individually. I also understand that being a player for old hardware presets is not the focus of OPS7 (pretty tedious to have to load the .syx file and drag preset to a bank each time I want to play it), but disappointing to me... unlike the amazing sound quality!davidv@plogue wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 5:33 pmBut unrelated to this (which I admit is a menu bug), I'm surprised at the workflow. Could it just be that is wasn't in the "proper" forum? Music Computers or New Product Alert would be more appropriate? But still sucks. Don't the moderators usually move a thread to the forum they want it to be in?gentleclockdivider wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 5:50 pm New thread

At the attention of moderators. Insinuations like these should not be allowed.gentleclockdivider wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 5:50 pm Asking why it was deleted ( don't forget that Arturia is regular advertiser at gearslutz ) , could be a reason ,no ?

No, if I close everything and reopen OPS7 still won't load the corrupt preset - still says "- Init -". I guess it does load it, but doesn't display name.davidv@plogue wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 5:33 pmThanks, yes I think I know what it is. I hope that a version 1.? of OPS7 will have a re-conceived mechanism for streamlined inclusion and saving of external presets. I agree completely with abernathy that a user friendly system along the lines of the DX7 V would be very welcome.
If it were easy, anybody could do it!

+1. This is another aspect of a modern GUI, and of improving the user experience.Spitfire31 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 7:18 pm I hope that a version 1.? of OPS7 will have a re-conceived mechanism for streamlined inclusion and saving of external presets.
