I'm asking if there is a video that shows decent DX7 patches, apart from the factory sounds. Like LOTS of decent presets that aren't all variations on the very (in my opinion) limited number of different presets that the DX7 has.
If you don't know how to program fm synths , this synth is not for you , simple as that .
Fm is capable of amazing basses and pads etc ,ops7 even expands on this by providing feedback per operator which is beyond what the tg77 can offer ( only 3 feedback loops )
Maybe just start learning the principles of operator ratios , 2-1 for square etc.. , subhertz operators inbetween for chorus like effects etc...instead of wading through 40 year old pathces .
Do you have a link to a website or can refer to a source that you personally think is good for mastering FM synths? I use Plogue PortaFM primarily which is 2 OP and relatively easy to program but I would like to increase my knowledge and take full advantage of OPS7.

Is it that important to stick to same 40 years old hardware design just because?!
What I like with these fixed configurations is that you can simply scroll through them (I love this simple knob on the actual GUI !!!) and listen to them while you play. Often this will lead to useful variations of the same sound, especially if you work with layered and detuned sounds. For example load "Cyber bass" (one of the first presets of OPS7) and switch to algo 16 on the first layer...

Right this is another issue. Looking into it now. the combination of "Fast" and 96kHz or 192kHz causes some minor upsampling residue by default which can easily be confused as TDM carrier noise. Ok then! Just bumped the upsampler quality setting until that disappeared with no noticeable cpu hit.

Important to know for the rest of you: None of that matters if you run the plugin at 44/48

Could be next week, worse case the week after. We are busy working out all reported bugs and issues first.
Thanks for your patience.

Hi guys, late to the party here, congrats Plogue, fantastic synth :)

Is there a definitive folder go SYSEX files for download please?

EDIT: Found a bunch: http://bobbyblues.recup.ch/yamaha_dx7/dx7_patches.html

I have a massive amount of syx presets. Is there a way to use the computer keyboard or midi to switch presets? It's straining to click the long list with the mouse. 8)

I tried it again. I can confirm it's working for the OPS7 preset list.

But not in the SYX list were you can load custom patches.

On my system (Win10) the far left .SYX browser can be navigated using arrow keys; the secondary preset browser cannot.
the old free version may not work boots successfully on new generations of computers, instruments, and hardware

Not only that! If I open the VST version, using the down/up arrow keys in Cubase is navigating the tracks!
I tried FM8, Predator 2, CZ V, ...etc and all of them working as intended (only FM8 navigating but not loading the presets).

So, a serious testing and fixing should be there!
