@Plogue
Do you think it's possible to bring the cpu load a bit down when patches are set to mono ?

I bought it and have been very happy so far. The one thing I wish it had was an emulation of the noise floor hiss from the output stage. Switchable or gated could make sense but I’m always a fan of emulations that include as many of the “flaws” of the original as possible.

I agree. This is a purists synth, and many purists will want the noise. I think personally that a ton of synth patches, maybe even most, sound better with a little noise.

Hum we can try... Can't guarantee there will be much saved.

If you are OK with it just being sample playback, I could add a chipcrusher-like noise loop of our many units (DX7x3, DX9, TX7, TX802 etc). But it is gimmicky imho.

Personally I think that's completely fine.

The thing I'm hesitating on is to add a volume level to it. I would match the noise precisely against the device by default and you can turn it off or on for the units I have.

I'd say adding a volume level is better. If it clutters the UI or something a simple on/off toggle is completely fine too IMO.

I hope this will be a user choice.

Please do. Personally, I am not willing to have noise added. :?

I agree with briefcasemanx - a simple on/off toggle would be enough (off by default)

Any plans to support DX7II sysex that includes performance info?

phreaque wrote: Sun Sep 26, 2021 1:02 pm Why would one be limited to few pre-configured algos while it is possible to reroute operators freely and have feedback loops whenever wanted?

Is it that important to stick to same 40 years old hardware design just because?!
one unique thing that comes out of the algorithm approach is if you also get the ability to modulate or automate the algorithm selector. might not be to most people's tastes but it opens up a lot of wild glitchy stuff that you can't really do in the 'modern' FM softsynths.

Undecided. Maybe in 1.5 or something?

In DX7II in addition to performance Mode, have been added 3 new Voice parameters : Range in Pitch Envelope (6 semitone to 8 octave) which is used in numerous new presets (brass, trumpet,..), LFO Mode = Multi (16 LFO, one for voices) and Unison Key mode .
It would be nice to see a version 1.5 of the software with at least the 3 new voice issues :-)
