Well, to be fair, it's been said a million times that synths are just tools
Logic Pro | LUNA Pro | OB-X8 | Prophet 6 | OB-6 | Rev2 | TEO-5 | Pro 3 | SE-1X | Minitaur | Deepmind 12D | Slim Phatty | TR-1000 | Analog RYTM mk2 | Digitakt 2 | TD-3 MO | TD-3 | Maschine+

What kind of wood? Oak? I've heard that some types of wood, e.g. pine, don't sound as analog as oak.
Pine is prone to rotting quickly, pretty much exclusively used for emulations of Behringer gear. However, if you want to emulate the degradation of components and the scent of mold and cat piss to really get that old equipment vibe, pine can definitely be the ticket.
