maybe, but general response to any change is a good indication of developer's condition in my opinion.
I've been eyeing thorn for a good while, but there's no way i'm getting it under PA

The only thing I'd like to see in a hypothetical Thorn 1.5 or 2.0 is more visual modulation feedback. That's the one thing that has become perhaps a bit dated with the popularity of real-time modulation visualization like in Pigments or Vital.

Other than that, I don't have much of a wishlist for this synth. It sounds great and it's fun to use.

You just reminded me - I need to upgrade my Pigments to the latest 3.1.0.1552. I think I'm still on 2.2.1....

Nobody to blame but the idiot who jumped on a new platform before it was ready.

That's insane. Thorn, in its current state, is awesome. It's the best synth I own (as opposed to my favourite synth) and it works perfectly. If the developer was dead that would still be the case so who cares that he's given it over to PA to sell?

DS Thorn - Changelog

Version 1.3.0 (Sep 17, 2021)
- fixed several crash bugs
- fixed artifacts when using low buffersizexs
The changelog at: http://www.dmitrysches.com/thorn-changelog (http://www.dmitrysches.com/thorn-changelog)

Code: Select all (#)

version 1.3.0:

- Added native Apple Silicon architecture support for Mac
- Plugin Data folder can be relocated on Windows now
- Added support for Oddsound MTS-ESP microtuning
- Fixed crash in Logic Pro X
- Fixed UI updating issues on macOS 11.3X
- Dropped 32bit support for both Windows and Mac
- Increased popup menu size
- Return key press does not trigger preset changes now
- All parameter changes now correctly reported back to DAW. This has been causing issue with external controllers
- Fixed incorrect GUI scaling for dual monitor setup
- Few minor fixes and adjustments
Unless I am mistaken, it looks like 1.3.0 added native Apple Silicon support, and Oddsound MTS-ESP microtuning. So more than a few bug fixes.

Yes maybe this is the reason why it is not possible to install it :( I hope PA won't wait till all their plugins be compatible with M1!!

So, if Thorn is already M1 compatible by DS, then maybe Diversion is also M1 compatible. Hmmm, Let's see, while waiting for Thorn, maybe it is good to buy Diversion now. I always liked the design and the sound. For some reason, I always forget to check it!

edit: Oh no! it is not compatible! Also a little expensive at $169, let's wait for the Black Friday then!

I know this might totally come off as a humble brag, but I scored DS Thorn for $69 USD back when Dmitry first released it. I doubt it’ll ever go on sale for that price again though. I also later paid an additional $19 USD when he migrated to PA, so my total investment has been $88 USD for Thorn. Still one of my favorite synths.

If I were to buy it today, I’d easily drop $100-$129 on it. Definitely not it’s regular price though!

It is currently on sale for $39.99.

Both, Thorn and Diversion are great synths. I bought Thorn when it was heavily discounted for $39 from PA. Before that I used the CM version. For Diversion, I missed the opportunity to buy it at half price a year or so ago, but I'm looking to buy it especially if there is M1 support.
I'm trying to focus more on M1 for music (including KVR browsing :hihi: ) and I'm using now only the native software. So, Thorn and Diversion would add great sound sources besides my few synths that works natively.
