It will probably be affordable to everyone else by Christmas. They have a massive sale then. These guys are just mad they can't grab it before everyone else and pop out 50 half assed presets for you to click on. Touche... i feel the same about the preset makers.
I seriously cannot wait to see what DS does with the PPG tech, because I think that's what's coming, and I already have the money put aside for it.

To each their own, but I love the new interface. I am curious how the functionality compares to something like Infiltrator which I'm interested in as well.SLiC wrote: Thu Sep 30, 2021 12:10 pm Don't like the new GUI, I have Tanta but rarely use it, I wont be bothering if is a paid update.

The GUI is really odd. So much empty space and tiny controls. Grey on grey on grey makes it hard to read.
Sounds fantastic, but I know I will never use this cause the UI is just so uninspiring and hard to use.

Like I said in the other Tantra thread......
Ok 30 seconds in and I'm sorry but this is one of the worst quality GUIs I've ever seen. I'd say it looks like something from 2001 but that would be an insult to 2001.
The aliasing all over the interface is insane. The rings around the knobs are especially bad.
I'm a huge fan of Dmitry, he's one of the nicest guys I've ever had the pleasure of working with on the internet but how he thought this GUI was a "generational shift in GUI design" I'll never know. Well unless it was intended to be a shift backward a generation or two.
I haven't even run any signals into it yet to see if it's a leap forward in sound design but to honest I don't even want to now...

Just out of curiosity what is it you love about this GUI ?
Style preference is subjective but quality is another matter altogether.
Case in point these screenshots:
The interface is barely legible. On a quality scale of 1 to 10 I'd give it a 2 and that's being generous. Again I love Dmitry but how this ever got past Beta is beyond me....
Again I'll remind everybody of the Tantra 1 GUI. This is a low quality screen grab but you see the difference between the two versions.

What is the new version? I have 1.14 and don't see anything beyond that on his site.Rickskii wrote: Thu Sep 30, 2021 1:01 pm There is an update of the original Tantra out also. Just got a notification.

Now that I think of it I purchased Tantra 1 directly from Dmitry so probably don't even quality for a PA upgrade price.Rickskii wrote: Thu Sep 30, 2021 1:01 pm There is an update of the original Tantra out also. Just got a notification.
When he turned Thorn over to PA we had to pay a fee just for the privilege of having it added to our PA accounts but at least he did add some additional patches to make it less distasteful.
As macmuse asked what is the update version for Tantra 1 ? I see 1.14 on Dmitry's site but the change log is not dated so don't know if that's a current update although it looks like just maintenance for Mac users.

I think I might have made an error (or rather KvR has), I wrote the above as there was a product update in my KvR header at the top of the page. I went to DS page to find I am already running 1.14. Perhaps there is one due out that KvR are aware of?
Sorry for the miss-information i should have checked first.

No problem probably just a timing issue between KVR and Dmitry. I appreciate the heads up anyway. I don't have Tantra 1 installed on this system so couldn't check the version number.
I wonder if he's going to do the same thing he did with Thorn and move Tantra 1 to PA? Not too sure how I feel about that but let's see what happens.

There was really nothing wrong with Tantra 1’s UI. I sort of hate the constant, “we need to get with the times” mentality. No one looks at their Prophet 5 and thinks, “if only this looked more modern.” Sure, problems should be fixed, and if a visual change helps make things more clear, I’m in, but almost always I find these interface changes to make things worse. The truth is, non-skeuomorphic designs are the most difficult to design for. You’re throwing out centuries of product design that formed a language that everyone understood. I can imagine the designers giddy with delight saying, “oooo, look how clever this design is! We hid all kinds of functionality that they’ll have to learn about in the manual or accidentally stumble across!”Teksonik wrote: Thu Sep 30, 2021 1:05 pmJust out of curiosity what is it you love about this GUI ?
