The DW6000/8000 were never exactly great sounding or very flexible synths anyway, but I'm all for people with a passion doing emulations of things they are interested in. :tu:
I have an original ex-8000 and it sounds beautiful to my ears. :hihi:

Great! Glad you enjoy it! :tu:

I converted the factory patches, including the MEX patches by Watchful, into individual Logic presets for Logic users who prefer to load them that way (as I do for a lot of instruments). You can grab those from here:

My computer doesn't like this synth. I installed it last night, loaded the VSTi into Studio One and every time I hit a note I got crackles like the CPU was overloading, even though the CPU meter was telling me it was using less than 10% of the available power. I tried several other VSTi and they all performed as expected so it seems like a problem with FB7999. Anyone else experience something like this?

Wouldn't Björn's Fury-800 (a Poly-800 "simulation") sound more like the Poly-61? The Poly-61 wasn't a digital synth; it simply had DCOs, like the Poly-800.

I dunno, never really looked into the details

I’m not a fan of most of the other full bucket synths but this one is great. Hopefully it’s a sign of things to come.

My only issue is that it seems prone to click artifacts in the release when in 8000 mode. Switching to 6000 usually fixes the clicking although it obviously also sounds different. I have no idea if that clicking is intentional or accurate to the original but I’m not a fan of it.

Thanks for all your feedback, especially to those who send me mails! I'm currently working on the issues, please bear with me. :tu:

I'd love to be able to choose between different set of waveforms per osc (say, 8k waveforms for osc 1, 6k waveforms for osc 2). Maybe an idea for "Bucket mode"? I guess in this mode the osc wave parameter could go from 1-32 rather than 1-16.

Interesting idea! I also thought about user imported waves... Let me get the bugs fixed, and then to the extensions. :)

Cheers, Björn

I think the poly61 was nearer in architecture to the dw8000, swapping dcos for wave playback. The poly800 only had one osc per voice and the notorious shared filter. May be wrong, I lost my copy of keyfax... :)

out of couriosity:
does it also work as (sysex) editor for the hardware ?
(like dexed in re dx7)

Best thing is to check the manual, to which you'd find your answer: Yes.

Love the DW8000 ! There are a lot of songs fully made on it on youtube. So much character, dark and slightly gritty, just classic analog feeling but also quite unique on this one. I tried to import DW8000 wavetables into my wavetable synths and it sounded nothing like it.
I will give this a try asap !
