Was hoping ASM themselves would provide something, maybe they will in time, but that looks pretty good. May have been Mac only when I first saw it. The LFO note step sequencer editing makes it pretty attractive. It takes ages on the synth itself.

Its and interesting tool for creating morphing sounds but it isn't a traditional editor librarian or patch manager. This is the deluxe tool for controlled randomization. It is no doubt fun. I hope the developer is up to making something more traditional as well.

Seems this is in development, but not ready yet. Also in the screenshots doesn't seem to have the one killer feature for me, letting me set up sequences quickly.

Edit: Downloaded a demo, but it's either buggy or I'm missing how to get simple mapping from LFO 1, say, to a parameter is done in the mod matrix. This is stupid when it's intuitive on the hardware. As it stands this thing would make working with a lot of the features harder rather than simpler. tbf there is an LFO step option, but it doesn't display any of the steps as notes. Yeah, I appreciate them working on it and it's only in version 1, but they're asking £60 and there's nothing resembling that value in it yet. Will keep an eye on it as it could improve.
It looks like the same developer is making similar editors for a whole bunch of different hardware synths (Minilogue XD, Kyra, Summit etc) under the name MidiSynth so maybe some of these are further along than others.

He does seem to be attempting a few useful things - tying in to an Android/iPad app to provide remote control like you get on Deepmind, having it capable of running as a VST - etc.

No editor but yes the librarian is available. A good editor usually has a librarian integrated into its design.

I'd bet a bazillion dollars a VST editor is coming.
With all the good design decisions these guys made, there's no way they leave themselves exposed to Modal, Novation, Elektron, etc.

Hopefully, but it has been about 2 years since the first model launched so they’re taking their time.

I love VST hardware editors so modulation can be mapped easily. I don’t think I would use a hardware editor unless it was a VST as the Hydrasynth is a joy to patch on the hardware, a great layout, easy to use…be hard to beat in software!

Fair point. It's been a strange two years though, so I'm going to give them a mulligan for one of them.

Maybe I'm wrong about this, but I think once there's a VST editor, the 49 and 61 start selling in droves as MIDI controllers. The utility becomes overwhelming.

The deluxe is 73 key btw, a full couple of octaves more than the standard model.
I will pick one up in the new year to replace my 88 key MIDI controller and Standard and free up a space on my keyboard rack for some new fun stuff.

The new MIDI CC mode . . . can you send MIDI CC messages from the filter and arpeggiator knobs too, or just the 8 macro knobs? Manual doesn't seem to specify.

Not in front of mine now, but easiest way to find out is usually to load up the free tool MIDI-OX and see what MIDI is getting output

Yeah, I'm on mac so I use MIDI Monitor.
A bigger problem would be that I don't yet have a Hydrasynth
