EDIT : Just saw its for actual sale on Oct 5th, so I guess V1 users will find out if there is an update path or not.
Id say there isn't as the first wasn't released through PA, but judging by comments made and the fact the GUI is a joke, I can't see me even wanting to.
Dmitry Sches Tantra 2 is coming tomorrow

Without speculating too much, would seem PA aren't keen to offer V1 users a free upgrade, but they'll offer a reduced price maybe ? Lets wait and see, but because its PA I won't be too optimistic.
I wanted thorn, and I am glad I got it, but it does mean becoming part of PA who are next to useless.

My guess is that Tantra 2 will have an intro price of $129, but Thorn owners will be able to buy it for $79 (could also be $99) when they log in. Of course new loyalty vouchers are out by then, so should be possible to get it somewhere between $29 and $49 on Tuesday. PA are pretty predictable.

I actually wonder if this is the work of Dmitry at all.
He did the most amazing things in the past all on his own with Diversion, Tantra 1, Thorn while this update looks more like the weekend hack of the new intern...
Are we sure it is he who created this?
Is he well?
Strange.
Cheers,
Tom

I'll not pay for this backwards step.

underdone/rushed releases often neglected, bugs unfixed, unacceptable conduct from their owner towards any criticism whatsoever on various forums/facebook, dodgy pricing schemes, a lot of fluff marketing for mediocre releases.
Most recent example is when they bought CrispyTuner, had it for a year before rereleasing it nearly identical with a new colour scheme and charging 399$ for it (from 69$ of the original).
in my opinion, they're creating an unhealthy software environment with their predatory tactics.

Why don't you ask him yourself, instead of spreading wild conspiracy theories, and asking stupid questions?ThomasHelzle wrote: Sat Oct 02, 2021 6:19 pm I actually wonder if this is the work of Dmitry at all.

Guess you didn't notice either that he stated himself a couple of times now that he's working on Tantra 2 and a new synth.

Agree with this, PA are not a good company, although i've never seen their attitude to criticism , probably why they don't have a representative here.Ploki wrote: Sat Oct 02, 2021 8:20 pmunderdone/rushed releases often neglected, bugs unfixed, unacceptable conduct from their owner towards any criticism whatsoever on various forums/facebook, dodgy pricing schemes, a lot of fluff marketing for mediocre releases.

But i've had a chance to sleep on it , and if the upgrade is free or a reasonable price, i'll get it, because I do believe Dimitry is a top developer and wouldn't make a V2 unless it was an upgrade.
The GUI make look horrible, but it maybe functional. We will see on Tuesday.

Not all of us do. Generally the usual suspects pipe up in any PA thread, regardless of what the vst is and copy / paste comments they’ve made previously. It’s because they can

I don't have much experience with PA but they've always answered my support tickets fairiy timely. I think I wrote at least 3 times. The one thing I don't care about is that I've been waiting for them to update Wavemapper 2 for a couple years so it will work with the newer newer OSX versions. They took over Wolfgang's app and I can't use it until they do. I can't figure out what the big delay is. They did write me to tell me that all previous owners will be notified, but going on 2 years is a big frustrating. Been able to get some great deals and don't fall for any bait and I'm fine overall.

And generally, the usual suspects will pop up the moment someone writes valid criticism to contribute absolutely nothing but voice support for waves/slate/pa/izotope and adding absolutely nothing of value to the discussion.ramseysounds wrote: Sun Oct 03, 2021 11:50 amNot all of us do.
