vst host

I'm fairly new to vst. Currently im using audiomulch as my hot are there better alternatives, i alo use acid pro and sometimes rebirth,i thought about cubase but i dont have any external hardware.I'm just lookin for the best host that my limited income will allow,suggestions? oh ya one more quetion, since i use software doe an external mixer bring anything to the table? or is this even possible? thanks

I haven't extensively tried it, but it looks cool for the price.
By the way: Choosing a host is a matter of taste and of the music you want to make. There is no best host, you have to find the one which is best for you. So try out our recommendations and find the one that fits you best.

I agree with the comment above that it's really "preference"... For instance, I had a friend that used Cakewalk YEARS ago, so that was the first host I was exposed to. Later (when I could afford a setup) I bought Cubase, but couldn't stand it because it didn't feel right. I ended-up dumping it after a year and buying Sonar (new version of Cakewalk).
Best idea is to try all the hosts (since they all have demos I believe) and see which fits you best. Probably good not to buy the wrong one like I did since they're expensive...
