If you do not like the style Melda has used for their "instruments" you can do your own. As I understand it the GUIs are fully customizable. And when you go into the "Edit" mode you have the old way of doing things. So best of both worlds.

Where do you find Modern 2? I don't see it in the list of styles on any of the three Melda plugins I own. I use the Titanium style with custom colors.
Only one of the three plugins I own has the new GUIs and I've already disabled "Custom GUI for Devices" on it.
To me the clear functional and visual choice between these two options is obvious:
But as long as the new GUIs can be disabled and some people like them then that counts as progress.

sorry it's Fmodern2:

Imo it should ship with melda. I think wojtech said that it will ship with melda?
It's the only melda skin i use, and i still use this in favour of new custom GUIs.
You need to disable "use custom GUI for devices" in order to use the traditional melda GUI.

Thanks I'll give it a go later.
If that's aimed at me then as I said I've already disabled "Custom GUI for Devices". It's good the new guis can be ignored for those who don't like them.Ploki wrote: Sun Oct 03, 2021 12:26 pmYou need to disable "use custom GUI for devices" in order to use the traditional melda GUI.

True, Melda plugins have always been ugly, but they’re usable. Professional usage sometimes means tweaking ugly buttons. Not looking for a pretty toy.
For sure, there are a lot of buttons for nothing, just ignore what you don’t need.

Yes, it was actually called FModern2 right. Glad to see its native now as 'Argon' in the current Update. Thanks

what issues did it solve? now we can click through 1000 pop ups in early 90s 3D style windows instead of excel tables I guess? I mean even in those ez screens grouping of elements is sometimes off, mouse-movement/ways hasn't improved and pictures/backgrounds are distracting. also you have the usual melda style and the new graphics as "inlay" in them, like pic in pic.
for me it wasn't a problem of graphics (besides those super ugly faux wood pseudo 3D default styles) but of workflow and there don't seem to be much improvement here. I hope all this release delay wasn't just because creating these new ez screen UIs.

tbh I think most of the new graphics are cheesy and prefer consistency - I think the new Argon is my favourite of the GUI styles so would like to switch them all to that. Someone remind me how I do that for them all in one go?

I've been using this and the previous versions (esp. FModern Light) for ages and it really makes a difference.

Professional usage sometimes means choosing an equivalent or better tool that is not ugly. Just because we find something visually appealing doesn't make it a toy.
I don't find the old Melda GUIs ugly when using custom colors. The new GUIs can be turned off so the options are good.
Ahh I see thanks. I had tried Argon in the past but still prefer Titanium.

We agree, in no way what you say is incompatible with what I said.Teksonik wrote: Sun Oct 03, 2021 4:10 pmProfessional usage sometimes means choosing an equivalent or better tool that is not ugly. Just because we find something visually appealing doesn't make it a toy.![]()
I don’t THINK they’re ugly. The thing is that they’re generally considered as ugly. I’m fine with them. I’ve tweaked the colors and have no problem with these plugins.I don't find the old Melda GUIs ugly when using custom colors. The new GUIs can be turned off so the options are good.
