A nice cooling solution (small fans)

I was looking around and I'd wanted to use a fan/heatsink solution for only part of the back of My graphics card, because above it I will have a slim ssd pcie 1x adapter. Obviously a backplate is a conductor to then add a radiator but I could not find one for a new gtx 960 4gb model. It's a shame, so I needed a workaround to deal with temp as cheaply as possible (hard to rationalize spending money on a mid level card). I could also cut a piece of aluminum like this to fit if I so desired.

I'll be able to throw these 4cm by 4cm fans beside just as easily, and I could also add some thin copper heatsink strips also.https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001299011618.html

Rare to find them so small, I thought the idea was handy and decided to share the idea. I'll be using two of these (due to the price), with thermal conductive stickers attached to the back of the ram chips, there are four in all and they are side by side. Meaning that one fan is large enough to cool two chips. There is also a small chip in the center, above the heatsink's middle for which I will add a copper mini mosfet heatsink.

I thought about the cooling of the underbelly of the gpu and decided on an exhaust blower, but they're pretty loud. I guess I could compare against the asiahorse which has a pretty good rating. But My mobo would need a cheap custom rgb controller with sata power so as to make that a reality. Also, I'm not sure if the air would be propelled outwardly, towards the outside of the tower as well as the startech blower might, but I'd need to stick the remote to something.

Anyways, for these small fans you'd need to rip the plastic connectors out and use heat conductive double sided stickers to make sure they're working. I know there's some 3m brands which work better than others, and I'll research that and find some decent prices, but until then I'll leave that part to you.

GPU 120mm are now connected to motherboard header.

Mm, so 120's are quiter. I'd read the opposite but I trust you if you've done testing - So many have merely theories. Thanks for the info.

I guess I'll get 120's for a side-blown holster blowing air on My gpu controlled by a speed control knob. I had not given much thought to adding wind, but I think it might be good. So many cheap fans these days though, bloody confusing; especially seeing that many name brands are the same fan.

You are welcome, the 140mm are even better, but too big for the GPU.
Now my GPU is more silent and colder!
