Out of curiosity did you guys own the hardware at some point?

no, but a band back then that I used to be friends with had it. I always liked it back then.Teksonik wrote: Thu Oct 07, 2021 11:35 pm Out of curiosity did you guys own the hardware at some point?

Ok I just wondered if nostalgia played a part. Does it sound like you remember?
I've spent more time with the demo and I like it but with a folder stuffed full of great sounding synths it's getting harder and harder for me to justify such a purchase.
It's a nice sounding synth with a fair price so I think it will do well.

There is something very special about this plugin. The sound is very very good. It has a good vibe. I enjoy the demo, I think I will buy it now

Thanks! We have already made some, but they were not released under our own brand.

Yes, it does sound pretty much how I remembered it. I used to enjoy hearing their soundchecks before shows, when they had it cranked up. Just something about it back then that struck me, sound-wise. Like you said, also a very fair price now. Also, I am happy to get somewhat more of the obscure (but not really obscure, but you know what I mean) end of the synth emulations, instead of another usual suspect.Teksonik wrote: Fri Oct 08, 2021 12:24 am Ok I just wondered if nostalgia played a part. At the time, this was certainly how the AKAI AX73 was viewed. However, nowadays, it is looked upon more favorably. According to vintagesynth.com . . .
"The AX73 is a surprisingly good analog synthesizer that is still considered to be widely underrated and deserving of some recognition. It's a six voice analog synthesizer with an almost identical architecture to Akai's AX60 keyboard. It also came in a rack-mount form as the VX90. It has one oscillator (VCO) per voice and allows for 3 playing modes: Poly mode uses one VCO per voice for six voice polyphonic pads, chords and strings. Dual-VCO mode stacks 2 VCOs per voice for a thicker three-voice sound. Unison mode stacks all six VCOs onto one monophonic voice for a screamin' lead!"
I had the pleasure of being on the beta-test team, and I can say without hesitation that Martinic's AX73 is a sweet beast, and I look forward to using it on my upcoming tracks. I like the fact that it was a bit of a dark horse synth that has become a diamond in the rough (please forgive my overuse of cliche sayings).

I finally tried the demo and I'm impressed. It sounds like you'd imagine an old keyboard synth from the 80s. Very warm and useable for 80's nostalgia sounds. One weakness and I'm sure this is inherited from the original is the lack of low end girth but this can be fixed with the onboard EQ and FX. The included effects are all of good quality.

It's too bad that the AX60 filter resonance wasn't modeled as well. I have a side table that needs stripping.
Looks to be interesting, though I've never experienced the AX 73. I'll have to demo...

I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better?
