Version 5.2 is here with a more streamlined Custom Shop experience. Now you can simply browse the gear carousel on the right-hand side of AmpliTube 5's GUI or use the available drop-down menus to demo or quickly unlock any gear you want.

Instant access to gear

Each piece of gear you try is fully functional for 72 hours, plenty of time to test all its features and sounds. When you're ready to make a purchase, just click the Lock Icon for the gear you want or the Triangle in the upper right of your chain to access the Buy Now option.

That gear will be added to your cart allowing you to check out normally or with your available Gear Credits or JamPoints. With AmpliTube 5.2, you'll find it's faster than ever to find the perfect guitar or bass tone and make it yours.

Update instructions

For existing users, to get updated on Mac/PC, launch the IK Product Manager, go to Manage My Products, and use the Update button next to AmpliTube 5.

What's new in AmpliTube 5.2

A new TRY & BUY mode is now available from inside AmpliTube 5 allowing users to demo and purchase new products without having to launch the Custom Shop.
AmpliTube X-GEAR pedals are now available for purchase inside AmpliTube 5.
New Account tab in Settings menu to allow users to Restore Purchases directly inside AmpliTube 5
General reliability improvements.

Let me know when you do something about the laggy GUI. Takes like 5 seconds to open every time.

it seems that IK finally listened.

1) activating trials without leaving Amplitube - nice! Custom Shop app was/is a kludge and it does not work well with Amplitube running as a different user (Custom Shop insists on running as admin, so any trials are activated for the admin user but not for Amplitube user)
2) batch activation - finally! i wish it was possible to batch-try an entire collection, but this is a good start.

so, credit where credit is due. this addresses one of the major annoyances i had with Amplitube.

Or just buy Line 6 Helix and get all the new gear 'free' in free updates.

Someone mentioned laggy GUI, and I had that bug a couple releases ago but it was fixed for me already in a previous update. Have you tried installing this one to see if the general reliability improvements mentioned might apply to your situation? This release has been very stable for me. I've had it on a track a lot with the PT-20 model the last few days, really digging its bite & I've had no issues with this update.

Hmmm, seems to use about twice as CPU now. Has some bonkers oversampling thingy been instituted? Sure there used to be something in the preferences?

No huge deal as I only have the custom shop and some free stuff, but I do like to use it from time to time.

Of course IK can't just improve the user experience without also crapping all over it.
Now there is a popup message every time you open AmpliTube that says

If you want use any gear in trial mode
please start the IK Multimedia Product
Manager and restart AmpliTube 5.
[ CLOSE ]

And yes, it appears just like that, bad grammar and all.
And no, there is no way to disable it. You have to click close to dismiss it before using AmpliTube EVERY TIME.

Much as I do appreciate what you get with the free stuff for Amplitube, I'm glad I don't rely on it for the majority of guitar sounds. Always something seems to be going wrong...

I haven't had any issues with it, running w/Rosetta on my M1 mini, either standalone or as a plugin. Haven't seen that popup yet. I've hardly touched any of my acoustics since I bought it at the beginning of August.

Weird thing for me is that when I first load it and the GUI opens I don't get the pop window about the trial, but then when I close the GUI and reopen it, I get pop-up trial.

IK, don't have obviously annoying things in your software. This isn't hard.

I'm not seeing this pop-up in either instance (when launching for the first time or after closing and re-opening). I'm using the VST2 in Reaper (Windows 10) and have a modified default preset in AT5 (I just loaded up the Slash 800 amp and saved as Default in AT5). Not sure which parts of that, if any are relevant, but just thought I'd throw that out there.

Here it happens in the VST3 (in Bitwig).
