Finished the GR-8 track, but didn't update the synth yet. Here's a playthrough. Nice work on this synth.

Hi All,
GR-8 has been updated to v1.2.0:
The change is a fix for a mistake that I made by adding new controls in versions 1.1.0 and 1.1.1. Due to my inexperience with newer versions of the plugin development platform that I use, I didn't know automation parameter IDs are automatically set in alphabetical order unless manually specified.
My sincerest apologies to everyone whose work is affected by the change!!!
On the brighter side, presets are not affected by this change, so your old presets will sound the same as before.

- Assigned Parameter Automation IDs (breaks automation compatibility with previous versions).
- Removed MIDI Assignments from presets.

Thanks Sasha, that fixes my ongoing problem with my Roli controllers and doesn't create any new ones for me.

I made a track using GR-8 for the main "lead synth/arpeggio" that goes on top of other stuff (EMU Audity, ABL Bassline, Microtonic, Kick)
Here it is: https://autodafemusic.bandcamp.com/track/in-a-few-days

I know this was probably a deliberate limitation, but I'd love for the unison mode to be polyphonic. GR-8's sound would be great for some huge pads...
Also, the LFO's range could use a boost. Even when it's set at a 100 percent it doesn't affect the destination enough.

Given that CPU usage can get high, I'd rather see an option to limit the number of unison voices so you could, for example, select two voices for unison and still have four note polyphony. Or four voices and two note polyphony.

Sure, having freely selectable amounts for unison and polyphony would be great, but why tie one to the other? Why artificially limit stuff like this in the first place? It's very frustrating to me when I come across that kind of thing. Even if your CPU is old, you can still freeze stuff in the worst case. Why not at least be given the option?

Thanks for bypassing the antivirus, all your money is safely transferred to my bank account.
Make sure that you have installed the Latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Version:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/w ... w=msvc-170
Scroll down to the table that contains DL links and DL the one that is appropriate for your configuration.
Please let me know if that helped.
Thanks!

Hi Sasha, I also had a problem using the Windows installer - it gave me an error message, saying it couldn't create the folder in C:\Program Files\Common\VST3. I thought I could fix it by running as Administrator but as soon as I extracted the .exe from the zip file, I got a warning about a security threat. Win11 wouldn't let me run the .exe at all and deleted the files from my drive almost immediately.
I tried to install it manually, over-writing the old one, but it doesn't show up in Studio One. I looked in the Plug-in Manager and it's not listed. I got it to re-scan and it knows GR-8 is there but it won't list it for some reason.
UPDATE: I read your post, updated my Redistributable but nothing has changed. I saw GR-8 come up when Studio One was doing it's plugin check on start-up but it still isn't showing up in Plugin Manager.

Hi Bones,
Maybe previous version is causing the issue:
Thanks!
Maybe previous version is causing the issue:
- Go to your VST3 folder, the standard location is: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3"
- Check if there’s a previous version of the plugin, the folder should be called just “GR-8”. Delete that folder.
- Copy the new version of the plugin to the VST3 folder, the folder is called “GR-8.vst”.
- Rescan plugins in your DAW if needed.
Thanks!

I've done that. I did a full search of the drive and discovered an extra version of the plugin tucked away in another folder, but it still doesn't show up.
