FL5 problem: I'm going CRAZY!

yes I'm going crazy cos no-one seems to be having the same problem I have with FL5, and so this is really disturbing.

I'll explain my problem, though I've already posted here:

I open a vst within FL5 (many different ones: Wusikstation, Tassman(a demo), Polyblit, Quantum...
and I play it with my midi keyboard: sometimes a note doesn't sound. as simple as that. I press the key and no sound. and sometimes (this with wusikstation) a note gets stuck and sounds forever, and I can only press stop to make it stop sounding.

ok now this is strange, but the thing gets stranger when I evaluate all possible reasons:

*is this problem caused by my midi keyboard?
NO, cos I do the same in FL4 and all works perfectly. no problem.

*is this problem caused by the vst synths?
NBO, cos they work perfectly in FL4.

*is this problem with my midi settings in FL5?
Not sure but I don't think so, cos they seem to be the same as those in FL4.

*is this problem caused by the FL5 I downloaded?
well, I downloaded it again from another mirror and the problem persists.

am I just going crazy?
