Hmmm. I am going to pass on NoiseShaper. I have ShaperBox2 and all the other Cableguys products. However, I am not that into sprinking noise through my tracks. If I am, I have other tools to do this like Texture. I could just spend the $22USD for just because... but I feel like being fiscally responsible and also stop this incremental update cost thing that seems to also be a bit of a debit trap.
I can start to feel all these $10, $20, $50 incremental update costs starting to add up across my plugin collection.

lotta folks comparing this to Devious Machines Texture... what are the truly major differences? can they co-exist with different purposes?
NoiseShaper - integration with CableGuys' excellent ShaperBox shaping system
Texture - can load your own noise samples (jakob from cableguys corrected me after i posted this, you can load your own noise samples to noiseshaper)
what else might be noteworthy differences?

Oh you can load your own noise samples in NoiseShaper. Just place your noises in a certain folder and NoiseShaper will add those to the menu.
There's a section on it in the PDF manual: https://www.cableguys.com/shaperbox-tutorials.html

I just upgraded from Drive and Volume shaper to the full Shaper box at PluginBoutique and it does say on the site this includes Noiseshaper, but having entered the serial I got it still shows Noiseshaper as available to buy.

Loving this! Really cool to put different loops to be triggered by the low, mid and high frequencies. Having lots of fun messing with my user sample folder. Found out that the Wilhelm Scream was just the thing my snare drum needed

I have to say I am a bit disappointed to what it turns out to be in reality...
I was expecting a bit more as many here already stated it´s a bit weird to announce this with a wtf from a quite famous and experienced guy for such a simple effect...
Nevertheless I am a big fan of Shaperbox... the last two plugins were free so I bought it regardless if I will ever touch it...
But I will stay open minded... perhaps I will find more use for it than I can imagine now...

Lots of overlap with Texture, but they are a bit different.
Shaperbox has the crazy lfo flexibility for patterned stuff. Texture doesnt have that I dont think. Actually, it does. Not quite as slick as CG maybe..
Texture has drag n drop of samples, I think. Not in Shaperbox. Thats handy...
Shaperbox has bands, Texture does not.
Neither has the damn +/- delay I mentioned a few pages ago, which both need for more creative uses...
Both could also use a live sidechain input in place of samples, and two outputs...
I think that Shaperbox vid implied there could be two outs though?

RTFM. No drag and drop.
From manual:
User noise import
Got a folder full of vinyl crackle, field recordings or tape hiss loops that you’d like to use with
NoiseShaper? Although NoiseShaper’s factory library provides a wide range of fine-tuned source material for your sonic adventures, it is possible to import your own samples, too.
Here’s how:
1. Create a Cableguys folder within your operating system Documents folder, then a
ShaperBox 2 User Noises folder within that – ie,
Documents/Cableguys/ShaperBox 2 User Noises.
2. If you like, create further folders within the ShaperBox 2 User Noises folder to
categorise your noises. Note that only one tier of subfolders within ShaperBox 2
User Noises is supported – further subfolders within those subfolders won’t be seen
by NoiseShaper.
3. Place one or more samples in WAV, AIF or AIFF format in the ShaperBox 2 User
Noises folder and/or any subfolders you’ve added to it.
4. Launch NoiseShaper and open the Type menu. Your imported noises and subfolders
will be available in the menu in the User column.
Note: Samples are limited to a maximum of 100MB each and sample rates up to 192kHz.
Also, the menu can contain a maximum of 1000 items, an item being a sample or a
subfolder.

I'd love it if it would save noise samples with the preset. Otherwise it is very un-portable unfortunately. As you would have to manually copy the samples to the document folder first.

Yes, NoiseShaper is included if you upgrade to ShaperBox 2 Bundle. But..: Did you upgrade to ShaperBox or Cableguys Bundle between September 1 and just before the NoiseShaper release? Then it should also be free for you, but I am currently looking into an error with my script which had skipped quite a few accounts... on that right now, though.aMUSEd wrote: Tue Oct 12, 2021 10:22 pm I just upgraded from Drive and Volume shaper to the full Shaper box at PluginBoutique and it does say on the site this includes Noiseshaper, but having entered the serial I got it still shows Noiseshaper as available to buy.
