hearing aids for musician?

Hello everyone,
my ears are slowly running "out of service" and i am becoming slightly deaf. This is starting to pose me several problem in daily life and I think that soon I will have to think about an hearing aid.
I was wondering if some music producer/hobbyst/musician have this problem and which kind of hearing aid he/she is using...

There is an major research project at Leeds University on this very subject!

Apparently it is a developing topic, it's very individual, and you will need to find an audiologist with specific knowlege. Read all about it:

The first article at the above webpage, "Music listening and hearing aids: perspectives from audiologists and their patients" concludes:

Hearing-aid users’ and audiologists’ experiences of music remain mixed. In the absence of formalised training in optimizing hearing aids for music, there is a need for systematic research relating fitting strategies to clinical outcomes and the development of guidelines for audiologist training.
