Is the Harley Benton MiniStomp Drop Kick “inspired by” the Suhr Riot, like the colour?

I have the Tomsline G-Fuzz (Red Fuzz Face) and Black Teeth (Rat). Both are very good (for what they are). It’s a guess based upon the case, controls and labels but if the Harley Bentons are rebranded ones, they’ll be bargains IMO.

Thinking of picking up 3 of the fairfield circuitry pedals at the same time. The shallow water, meat maude and the hors d'oeuvre. It's over $800 for 3 mono pedals, but I love that kind of stuff, weird analog devices.

i only know, the shallow water, and desire it!pekbro wrote: Wed Oct 20, 2021 12:32 pm Thinking of picking up 3 of the fairfield circuitry pedals at the same time. might have a look at the others, but could do without extra desire at the minute.
especially, as each of those coat roughly double here what you pay
was bad enough before we walked off the cliff, but now electronics from outside the uk, ridiculously priced

Talking about Fairfield, their other pedals seem interesting : the Accountant, the Unpleasant surprise... Their Barbershop overdrive is nice, too!

I have the Shallow Water and Hors d'Oeuvre? and I love them. I tried out Meat Maude at Perfect Circuit but I didn't like it as much as other analog delays I use but still it did sound very nice. Their other pedals are also worth looking at. They all have their own unique character and use lots of high quality parts. They are very low noise even when boosting their output to modular levels.pekbro wrote: Wed Oct 20, 2021 12:32 pm Thinking of picking up 3 of the fairfield circuitry pedals at the same time. Shallow Water is really good. Lends a distressed character and a bit of chaos to any sound. It's absolutely magical on polysynths. I use it a lot with my Ambika and Prophet 6.
With my passive feedback loops, it can be kinda hard to balance the input signal with the feedback, so I mostly use those for no-input patches these days. The Hors d'Oeuvre? makes it much easier to balance signals but the way things feedback can be quite different from what you might expect if you have used a passive feedback loop before. It's really surprising which pedals do cool stuff when put in a feedback loop like this. My favorite things to use are one of my Realistic Reverbs, a graphic EQ and an old Boss pitch shifter. Some fuzz pedals do wild things too... lots of pedals I've tried just kinda self-oscillate in a way that is on or off, without any range between. I've honest had the best luck with cheap, analog pedals in my feedback loops.
The most handy thing about Hors d'Oeuvre? is that it allows me to have an open feedback loop for any delay which can be 100% wet. So, like my Echo Fix doesn't have it's own open feedback loop, but I can cut the direct signal from the mix and use it inside Hors d'Oeuvre?'s feedback loop and put a filter or a tube pedal in the feedback loop with it. This also give me the ability to choose whether the other pedal comes before or after the delay, in the loop.
It's also useful as a buffer and true bypass for effects which don't have their own stomp switch (like the Realistic Reverb or my SE-50).

Speaking of feedback loops... I just found an excellent deal on an EHX Tube EQ. It's in the same form factor as the Tube Zipper that I love and it has an expression/CV input for the sweepable mid-band. I plan to keep it in the feedback loop of one of my DMM 1100TT delays.
Some folks are asking more than $200 for these on Reverb and Ebay but I managed to get one locally for $120, so I'm pretty stoked. Can't wait to try it out this weekend.

Well, you could do something like Hors d'Oeuvre? with the Klein Bottle but Shallow Water doesn't do feedback.vurt wrote: Wed Oct 20, 2021 3:35 pm ha! was just thinking if i could fudge together something like shallow water, using fb loops in the klein bottle

It's basically a low-pass gate into a chorus/vibrato. The LPG is controlled by an envelope follower and the chorus' delay is modulated by a slewed s&h, rather than a sine or triangle LFO. The Rate knob controls the sample and hold rate and Damp controls the slew rate. It gives a warbly tape vibe that isn't cyclic. The LPG knob controls the depth of the envelope follower.
