Do your fingers go to first on the geetar/keyboard/whatever automatically when you first start to play?

It was something wee Bob Smith from the cure said in an old NME interview, that you could tell what sort of music a person would play from the first chord they played on picking up a guitar. His was Aminor by the way.

Mine is an open G with the 3rd finger playing the D on the B string (some boffin will know what the name is :hihi: ), cos I'm a jingle jangle kind of f**ker. :D

They're not real chords, just mistakes when people try to play the proper ones. :P

As uncle donkey always told me, avoid any chord with a number bigger than 7 in it. Served me well. :hihi:

CM on piano, EM on guitar...

My new favorite chord progression is CM, FM, CM, GM, Am, FM, Am, GM... so use it in a song and become famous.

Tis the saddest of all chords! Especially with an F# on the top E, and a C on the B string..

Yep, a G played 320033 is my default chord as well. with a C major on keys.

Nice DT: It's a G Major!

My chord is a CMaj7 on guitar (C root=10 fret on the fourth string/E = 9th fret of the third string/ G = 8th fret of the second string/B =7th fret of top string) being the opening chord of "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" - I have always loved the sound of that straight ahead voicing. I love it followed by A7#5#9 to E7#9.
