They gave it away themselves for a week or so in July.

(FTR I find BPB one of the best sites for keeping up on freebies etc)

I think they also offered it for half price last time they updated it, maybe they'll make a habit of it.
I'll hang back, and see what happens. Cheers

Yeah, half price at last update, would make me a little cautious of paying full price, hardly PA level discounts but, you know.. :)

Plugin Alliance should take it over, then it feels much more valuable… (for those who don’t trust their ears…; - )

Kinda curious as to the differences between using a “tube” synth like these, and running a non-“tube” synth (i.e., almost any other) through “tube” fx ... or through actual tubes, for that matter.

Post

Knifonium is an emulation of a real world synth. If you don’t emulate, you can claim anything. Send it through an arctan shaper and voilá it sounds like a tube…

Not much in reality.

Proclethya has drive and saturation around the filter so anything after that will be affected sound-wise of course (envelopes, fx etc). I believe knifonium and Vacuum Pro both have the distortion around the oscs too so you'd get more variety of wave shapes gping into the filter too.

So I think you get greater control of your sound with VP or Knifonium, each voice effectively distorted/whatever as opposed to everything mushed together and distorted as one with post fx.
