Many suggestions I see here are things that have been already done and exist, like Roland products? I already have a 1080 from Roland, why would I want Arturia to make an unofficial version?
I would like to see more rare synths that haven't been done well yet, like the SQ-80 was a welcome addition.
For V9, I'd like to see something like an Elka synth emulated. I've never owned one and I don't even know which model was most popular or the most desired, but I have played around with one many decades ago and I wouldn't mind having one in software.
Do something that hasn't been done to death yet is my opinion.

I'd like to see what Arturia could do for that also, but for now there is XILS-lab's version.Synth Master Jedi wrote: Mon Nov 01, 2021 7:14 pm For V9, I'd like to see something like an Elka synth emulated. But don't you have to have a subscription for Roland synths? Can you buy them as a regular vst plugin? If not, then yeah, I'd like to see Arturia cover those synths.Synth Master Jedi wrote: Mon Nov 01, 2021 7:14 pm Many suggestions I see here are things that have been already done and exist, like Roland products? Really.

I played an Elka a long time ago (do not remember which one). I remember it being REALLY bright and limited, but this WAS a long time ago .dblock wrote: Mon Nov 01, 2021 10:36 pmBut don't you have to have a subscription for Roland synths? But isn't it the case where almost anything developed now is going to be so "niche" that Arturia's return on the investment is going to be questionable at best? What truly great synths are there yet to be modeled that aren't already available somewhere or have their sonic signature pretty well duplicated by a similar synth, perhaps originally by the manufacturer? I was really happy, for instance, to see Arturia offer the Matrix 12; I was really happy that they did not offer the Matrix 6 instead of (or even in addition to) the Matrix 12. Why? Because while any variety is a good thing at one level, the Matrix 6 was designed by Oberheim as a cheaper version of Matrix 12 with DCO's rather than VCO's. So, why do it? Yes, it sounded excellent, but it was not as amazing as the Matrix 12.

You can buy "lifetime keys", but they're quite expensive ($149 each, never on sale) and you still have to have a Roland Cloud account to authorize it (you can use a free account, but even if you own "lifetime" keys, it still needs to phone home once every 30 days).dblock wrote: Mon Nov 01, 2021 10:36 pm But don't you have to have a subscription for Roland synths? Also, Arturia's Juno-6 and Jupiter-8 plugins use a lot less CPU than the Roland versions, and (IMO) they sound just as good as Roland's. (The Juno chorus sounds a little bit different, but still good.)
I don't think Arturia can recreate the JV-1080 / XV-5080, because they can't just copy the sound library, and the library is really the whole point (for most people, anyway). But they could certainly tackle some of the other analog synths.

While plugins do exist for most of the big classics by now, most of them still don't have top-tier emulations yet. Arturia also needs to revamp many of their older plugins to bring them up to current standards.dlandis wrote: Mon Nov 01, 2021 11:01 pm What truly great synths are there yet to be modeled that aren't already available somewhere or have their sonic signature pretty well duplicated by a similar synth, perhaps originally by the manufacturer? I love the Matrix-12, but I think Arturia needs to take another run at it. The emulation is decent, but not on par with their latest stuff. Even just adding their new Voice Dispersion feature to it would help it sound closer to the hardware. It's also looking pretty rough, as the only plugin in the collection that still has a (mostly) low res UI.
I agree that it would be uninteresting to have Matrix-6, Matrix-1000, or Expander plugins. The Matrix-12 is the one everyone wants.
I'm also hoping they'll do a total rewrite of CS-80 V. Nobody has done a great CS-80 emulation yet (I'm aware of ME-80 and don't like it), but I think present day Arturia is up to the task.

Thanks for the info. No way. Sounds like a Roland lifetime pain in the ass. It's as if their plugins are on probation and have to report to the Roland probation officer every month. I would Never go for something like that.

Last year they had the Play4Life deal where you can take one lifetime key if you subscribe to Pro, or two keys if you subscribe to Ultimate. I bought in to that last December. The Pro subscription is $99, so I chose the D-50 and it's normally $149.Arashi wrote: Mon Nov 01, 2021 11:03 pmYou can buy "lifetime keys", but they're quite expensive ($149 each, never on sale)dblock wrote: Mon Nov 01, 2021 10:36 pm But don't you have to have a subscription for Roland synths? Well, you can see by my comment just before yours that for me, any plugin requires me to do anything every so often after I bought it is a no-go except updating. I have Nexus and they require something like that every 90 days or so. I quit using it. Just no.Examigan wrote: Mon Nov 01, 2021 11:35 pmLast year they had the Play4Life deal where you can take one lifetime key if you subscribe to Pro, or two keys if you subscribe to Ultimate. Agree with everything mentioned here, especially comments about redoing the Matrix 12. It was close for when it came out, but I am so sure that they could get significantly closer if they redid it now. My mouth kind of waters to think about (which is admittedly very odd, when one thinks about it and the Matrix 12 isn't playing a bell soundArashi wrote: Mon Nov 01, 2021 11:11 pm

With so many synths already in the collection, I’m probably more interested in new versions from the current stable, especially given how well the new Jup-8 turned out. Seems like current front runners are:
- CS-80 (has been acknowledged as a popular upgrade request by Arturia)
- Prophet (popular, not one of the strongest emulations in my opinion)
- Mini (I seem to be the only one who really likes the current engine)
- Matrix-12 (popular in this thread)

Mini has a pretty decent engine, but the mod matrix is where its at. No other Moog emu has any sort of modulation like the Mini V.......for now

The JX-10 sounds very different from the Jupiter 8 or Juno-60. So I think it's worth adding to the V9 collection. I would also vote for an emulation of the Alpha Juno-II using the MKS-50 programmer as the rough basis of the GUI. I should mention that the emulations would need to have full sys-ex compatibility with the hardware.SHall1000 wrote: Sun Jul 25, 2021 9:34 am So would these JXs bring anything new to the V collection sound pallet?
Matrix-1000, MicroWave with Access programmer, MicroWave II, MKS-50 with MidiClub programmer, MKS-70, MKS-80 with Kiwi Patch Editor, Nord 2 Rack, Nord 3 Rack, Prophet REV2 module, Pulse 2, Shruthi, Virus TI

The Rhodes mk8 is still missing. Apparently, that’s bound to be an instant classic.
What about the monos that u-he wanted to do but were heavily discouraged by the id&@!… idealists on this very forum?
I don’t know any of them, but wasn’t there discussion about wasps and cats and other animals?
