*I got this straight up for the guitar, synth applications had nothing to do with it really.
well you should at least try it
then you can tell me if it transfers to other instruments well :hihi:

although, saw the vid in the other thread, will probably add one for the guitar anyway myself, had some interesting moments 8)
Well, yeah no doubt that will happen. I will report my findings certainly. In 1-2 weeks apparently. :tu:

Which one? ... {always loved sitar}
I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

Doh there's a new eurorack module from Strymon apparently:

This would go well with my Magneto, so I expect I'll grab it at some point.

Digitone arrived plus a pair of Beyer DT990s I got for under a ton on Amazon and I’ve already begun to churn out generic dance crap TM. Lots of fun.

And the motu M4 for my mpc one, seems to record clean but some digital artifacts every now and then on playback. Going to replace it as other say it works fine so maybe a duff unit, though I could live with it.

My new year resolution will definitely be to stop buying gear. Though I just picked up a little Korg NTS-1 kit because I have zero willpower.

Good luck!

I set myself four very specific goals/limits for 2021 relating to gear and I broke all of them. One of them very badly because I just said "screw it, I do what I want."

My strategy now is to change the way I think about gear instead of setting specific limits. I don't mind so much that I spent some money, but I kind of want to settle down about all of it, if that makes sense, and I think that will naturally lead to less spending.

Post

i have one limit!
"can i afford it today?"

this only bites you on the arse, if "today", is a few days before direct debits go out :hihi:

Brit and I set a budget every year but I can fudge that a little bit based on the number of freelance gigs I do. Most years I don't spend my whole budget on music gear. While it's nice to be able to buy pretty much anything I want (which certainly hasn't always been the case), it's made me a lot more choosy about the stuff I use.

Post

its not my fault entirely!
yes im weak, but having a maximum savings threshold, means i have to spend money.
if i hit that, i stop getting any money in the future, then reapply when i get below it again, it's easier just to smoke it and spend it on gear  :hihi:
