Sure. Based on what Yamaha have previously done (back around Cubase v7) they're not above knowingly releasing broken code just to hit that update release window. So to skip a .5 payday means it's fairly obvious the cadence was changed because of the priority to get a working native solution out on Apple ASAP, lest some of them start thinking about going elsewhere.
If they start the grace period now, it can only be a matter of a few months.
You'd think. We'll see.. In the meantime we'll see if they actually do a black friday offer, just to try to keep M1 users, who might be tempted to try alternatives, on board.

They're not even performing proper basic testing on a lot of their stuff ([] they'd have noticed if they'd used the bloody thing for literally two minutes)
The problems I'm having seem like decisions made by people who have never, and will never use Cubase, for anything.
That's probably a slight overstatement, but a couple of these are obvious busy work like someone didn't have enough to do. The features that keep me using 11 over 10.5 are still not ready at 11.0.4.

So I'd want to see a .5 or I better be able to take out a trial of 12.

So, where are you guys seeing all this? The website looks like it always did, no mention of 12 or grace period.

You must belong to Illuminati to see those secret messages ;)

Post

There was a thread on the Cubase forum about it, but that's gone as well.

So Steinberg inadvertently went live with some test code on the website, and then pulled it back when they realized their mistake. So now the question is, how are they going to compensate all the people who purchased Cubase 11 today believing they will get Cubase 12 for free?

Are they going to honour this premature grace period starting today, as their official website publicly announced, or will they leave all the people their sloppiness misled out to dry?
THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

Maybe that mysterious guy who announced that they would skip 11.5 and go straight to 12 here hacked their site, and put it on there. :P

Hopefully people didn't activate because of the grace period claim. Typically the grace period is for about a month before any new release.

Post

I really wonder how something like that can happen unintentionally, but, hey...

Leakage. Publicity. Bet the blogs are already eagerly drafting their articles.

Post

I suppose it's one way to announce it whilst still being stingy with the grace period..

I think the title of this thread should be changed.
