Eventide/Newfangled Audio Saturate is excellent especially for clipping.

Baby Audio TAIP is quite interesting for overdriven/lo fi tape sounds

Louis2001 wrote: Thu Nov 04, 2021 2:50 pm I really like Vertigo VSM and Phil's Cascade. I recently bought elysia karakter, but it is very hard for me to get a good sound from it, I don't like It.
Considering how good elysia are in general, I was totally blown away at just how bad Karacter is. I've had it for years and never use it.
I absolutely agree. I really like and use their alpha compressor, mpressor and, as mentioned, Phil's Cascade. At least I bought karacter for only 10$
I think I paid $99 back in the day to be honest... More fool me! :D
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

Unless the aliasing has been fixed, I wouldn't use TAIP for mixing or mastering. Among my favourite free saturators are Fresh Air and GSatPlus.

totally agree, I'd use iZotope vintage tape for anything where I want some degree of actual fidelity, i found TAIP lends itself more to being a form of overdrive effect

Good saturation plugins or devs with a fair price are
Klanghelm, Kazrog, Baby Audio imo

Definitely don't use Decapitator or several other plugins, as well, if concerned about aliasing in saturation/distortion plugins.

By the way, I don't see much aliasing in Plugin Doctor when using TAIP with very modest settings, and, even with less modest, it's not any worse than several other plugins.

Still, it'd be nice to have a 2x or 4x oversampling option.

Mwaveshaper is pretty unique for sound deisgning and for saturation. It is also free

I'm digging it a lot.

Also Devious Machines Infiltrator has some good saturation on-board.
