There are plenty of others that I would say are as good as the originals... off the top of my head, most of the covers NIN did and Coil's version of "Tainted Love" come to mind.

i saw john frusciante, at a chilis gig, do a solo encore of "jugband blues" pink floyd.
obviously, not "better" than the original, but a beautiful moment as it was two or three days after syd had passed
