Can the Pro sub switch which Legendary plugins you can use for the 2 slots or do you choose up front and thats it for the year?

I would most likely get the lifetime key for the Jupiter-8.Brian.McClelland wrote: Sat Nov 06, 2021 12:13 am Hey, friends! Brian from Roland Cloud here. Just wanted to drop by to let everyone know that our Play 4 Life promotion is back on.
I probably don't need it, but is Zenology Pro also one of the included plugins for this? That would be a good deal as it is currently $229.

No, I doubt they’d ever stick that in a lifetime keys deal tbhExamigan wrote: Sat Nov 06, 2021 10:17 pmI would most likely get the lifetime key for the Jupiter-8.Brian.McClelland wrote: Sat Nov 06, 2021 12:13 am Hey, friends! You're right. I just read the promotion description again and it's only for the Legendary plugins.

From Play 4 Life FAQs
Q: How many renewals or instruments can I choose with the promotion?
A: You can renew up to four times after your initial purchase. That's ten Legendary instruments for annual Ultimate memberships (two per year) and five for annual Pro memberships (one per year).
Q: Can I change the instruments I choose?
A: Try out whichever Legendary instruments you want during your annual membership. You can choose and change Play 4 Life instruments as long as your Play 4 Life membership plan is active.
----
I'm confused. What's the difference between "renewals" and "changing instruments"? Let's say I get a Pro subscription and after one year go back to a Core subscription. The second FAQ seems to indicate that I'll be able to try out all legendary instruments for one year when my Pro subscription is active. What is the first FAQ about? Can I renew the choice of my legendary instrument AFTER my Pro subscription expires?

The way I understand it is you have to decide on one plugin for Pro (or two plugins for Ultimate) before the subscription runs out. You can't change them after it is expired.

So not sure if anyone is addressing what I asked in some of these responses. On the website it says you get 2 slots for using Legendary VSTs (as opposed to full access for Ultimate) during your year. Was just curious if those 2 slots can be whatever you want whenever you want.

We need Brian from Roland to clarify several things. I have a Core subscription and am willing to spend more money on RC thanks to the Play4Life deal. But it almost feels like Roland is trying to stop me from doing so...

Roland possibly trying to limit the number of legendary keys available through the promotion so maybe 10 keys via Play4Life is the limit?Chrisk-K wrote: Sat Nov 06, 2021 11:32 pm That makes sense. I still don’t understand what up-to-four-times renewals mean.
My understanding is they have a ‘normal’ subscription as well as the promotional ones.

I wonder if it's time to jump on this deal. The D-50 and the JD-800 are two old favorites, so chosing them for lifetime keys would be my choice. However, I don't see the JD-800 in the list on their site, can it be chosen for a lifetime key?
Would this deal be possible to jump on next year as well, chosing two other keys, do anyone know?
Also, I've seen JRRShop selling lifetime keys, have anyone noticed if they ever go on sale?
Edit: Oh, I see now the up to four times renewal now, so that answers one of my questions

Yes, I chose it last week when I realised I hadn’t yet chosen keys for this year.starflakeprj wrote: Sun Nov 07, 2021 8:22 am I wonder if it's time to jump on this deal. Hey guys i dont quite get it. Does it mean i can get up to 10 lifetime keys and after that i cannot get additional lifetime keys for my account? If i want additional ones i need to trade my current licenses? I have to misunderstood it i think cause this sounds terrific ;D

Roland offer up to 10 free keys on their "play4life" subscription special offer. After 5 years of ultimate, or presumably 10 years of pro, no more "free" keys via the play4life offer.
You can change any of those 10 "free" keys, to any other legendary instrument (Zenology is excluded), at any time, provided the subscription is active. No active sub, no ability to switch the 10 "free" keys.
Once the limit of 10 is reached, unless Roland change things, you can't benefit from Play4life. But you can still purchase individual lifetime keys for instruments.
The offer is their way of trying to get people, who don't like the idea of subscriptions, used to a subscription service.
