I know, the title sounds very GAS-friendly but I wanted to share some fresh plugins I got that I think are helping my mixes.
First is Soothe 2, I use it especially on high-hats and any kind of digital sounding synth sound, it helps smoothing everything and make things sit better in the mix. I heard a lot of pros use it all the time. There's a "delta" feature so even when I'm not sure what's wrong with a sound it can spot it out for me.
FrontDAW. I remember having saw this a long time ago and discarded it as it looked very gimmicky, "make warm now" kinda thing. It's designed to be put in front of each channel but actually it also works awesome as buss glue.
I also bought a new exciter, Audiothing Type B. Was cheap as I already have the Type A sibling. I need to spend more time with it but it can add a dense brightness and sheen.

In Russia plugins discover you. Getting rather old, I know, but they are good plugins.

i've demoed lopperator once again, and i'm in love with it. It's so fast to get variation into a sample or the whole mix. I tried a lot of glitch/stutter/sample mangling plugins, and while there are a lot of good alternatives out there, the immediacy of looperator is what i need in a tool. The Fluxx series by ujam fulfills a similiar role, but doesn't blend in so easy if applied on the whole mix.

Lets me be musically creative with feedback,
without going deaf or broke
It's got to be one of the most
must-have tools I've come across, even just having scratched the surface.
Tried with guitars, pads, leads, sequences/arpeggios...gonna try drums next

My latest discovery is that I'm pretty much set for plugins! I'll check out new algo reverbs and compressors to make sure I'm not missing anything but I'd rather focus on getting the most of what I've got after a 5 year KVR-fueled buying spree.
And especially for softsynths I'm getting a lot more mileage from diving deep into the features of a few instruments when I want new sounds.

you shouldn’t be talking about such topics so openly. The GAS police might be listening!Winstontaneous wrote: Sat Nov 06, 2021 10:08 pm My latest discovery is that I'm pretty much set for plugins! I have a feeling I am going to pull the trigger on this, but I need something to make that happen for sure.
