I'm in the process of switching from Reaper to Waveform free. I'm using Windows 10 64 bit. When I scan for VSTs only one out of about 100 is recognised by Waveform. I get the following message about the rest - 'scan complete Note that the following files appeared to be plugin files but failed to load correctly'. Reaper had no problem recognising these plugins. Can anybody help?

Are they 32 bit?

this isn't really helping,

i recently installed waveform free. i found it works correctly with the eventide pendulate vst3. i found that it did not load all of my vst 2.4 .dlls.

for the last decade or so, before using windows 10 64 bit, i heard many reports from some users that my vst and others wouldn't work, and many from others that they worked just fine. i'm pretty sure whatever incarnation of tracktion's free daw existed then was in the "not working" category.

it may be because some plugins are too rebel and wouldn't compel people to seek proper pricey plugin products by professional plugin profiteering persons and so must go to extermination rather than endorse a forbidden future of digital audio creativity with just anyone who feels like taking part.

or maybe there's a simpler fix. since my old host works well with my old plugins on win 10 64, i'm only using modern hosts for testing plugins and wouldn't dream of using them for composition since they refuse to use quality resources.

I'm using Waveform and most of my 64bit plugins work fine.

They could be 32 bit. How would I know? Reaper can load them so why can't Waveform.

Because Waveform doesn't load 32 bit plugins only 64 bit ones . Reaper does both .

This. For stability they removed 32bit support awhile ago (they needed to work on stability - and it's great results show in the MUCH more stable v11.5). You can use DDMF or BlueCats plugins to run 32bit stuff if they're really that critical, or take it as a sign of the times to upgrade with the BF sales coming in hot.
