enroe wrote: Sun Nov 07, 2021 11:05 am What I noticed is:

To compose really good songs you have to be pretty introverted. Because only
then can you focus on it and really realize your ideas and turn them into music.
This also applies to the complexity of recording and mixing a song.

But to get your songs out there, to get known and to promote them, you have
to be as extroverted as possible. Because only then will you meet enough
people and make contacts and gain awareness in the first place.

Depending on which phase you are in - song composition or promotion - it is
better to be introverted or extroverted.

I feel that switching between intro and extravert doesn't work "at the push
of a button", but that I need a transition phase of several months at a time.

"Making music" works best when an introverted composer and an
extraverted "jack of all trades" team up.
this post was what got me wondering. it made me think of jimmy page and peter grant. they seemed to have gotten along. but could peter grant be the introvert and jimmy page the extrovert?

Honestly, that’s generally been my experience as well. Most of my collabs have been with introverts and I usually feel like that’s where I’ve had the best chemistry.

its always going to be difficult with stars.
how much of that persona we know is a defence mechanism to cope being an introvert in that arena?

look at kieth flint from the prodigy, spiky haired mental dancer, you would assume life and soul of parties.
preferred being home alone gardening.

you can't always judge a book by its cover.

it seems that albert einstein is the most famous introvert. bill gates is there too in that other list somewhere.

i'll just presume (wrongly perhaps) that madonna is the most famous extrovert.
is jesus an extrovert? what about those two famous guys with the toothbrush moustaches?

I am introverted I think.
I am making music since I am 10 years old, so 44 years now.
Playing piano in the first place an using computer teck since I discovert that music can be done there.

I always was making my lyrics in English while I am nativ german speaking.
Normaly people like my music and so but something happend few years ago and I did my first song in my native language.

It was so interesting, how the lyrics suddenly changed from the normal on like.........I have lost my love, or.........I found the love of my live, or.........everything is going.......and so to something very different.

Suddenly in my lyrics I picked up things that really concern me and were part of my life, no fiction, no dreams, real things and people began to cry or beeing really deep touched listening to it.
I found out about my selfe, that there is more touching me than I thought.
I am introverted and I am thinking about more than I like to realise or................well more.

I learned lots about me in the last few years and even feel touched my selfe from my own music.

A little OT:

Haja, in "german" you are always in danger of becoming a Helene Fischer double
- and slipping into the shallow realms of the "Schlager". Really deeply disgusting!
Nobody understands "German" here - that just sounds like staccato. :?

But you could also express your inner feelings in English - that just includes a
little more "wanting" and "working on the lyrics". Why not?

Yes, that's a problem. If you are extroverted, then you dance all sorts of
parties, call people all the time, make appointments, etc. The mobile
phone is never turned off, an important call could be coming. That is all
very nice, but when you sit at a DAW, there is just enough time for a few
standard Drum loops and a few chords. You never really get to a whole
arrangement or even a whole song.

You need a lot of focus and analysis, constant concentration. This is really
a challenge - at least for extroverts.
